Bereaved dad speaks out in this right-wing PA area.
On our local TV news the other night, a man was interviewed whose son had recently been killed in Iraq. (I usually mute such, because too much a waste of life, too heartbreaking, but I listened to this for some reason.) The man said he answered the door and "two marines were standing there, and I knew what they were there for." He said he could not have asked for a better son. His son was twenty, if i remember correctly. He said his son had always wanted to be a soldier, and was a hero. But then dad said he never had told his son he thought this was a senseless and useless war. He hadn't wanted to hurt his son by saying this. He said he really admires Cindy Sheehan and what she has done. He went on and said "I now just want to talk to everyone I can, and do everything I can, to bring the troops home."

Understand, this central PA area is one of the most Christian Right, conservative areas in the nation. Took a lot of courage for this father to speak this way, and maybe, shows a turning of public opinion even in the most entranched RW areas.

(Sorry this is a couple of days old. Did not have time to post before).

2.  No doubt of the approximately 4,000 parents of dead soldiers
in Iraq, why is it only Cindy that is speaking out so persistently?
