2008 questions...
I'm a political science major with a concentration in electoral politics and I'm just wondering who everyone thinks the Democrats will, should, or avoid picking in 2008 for their candidate?

I'm fascinated by the whole process like many people, but I always hear the same few names thrown around... with no real reason to back them up, so if you post someone... explain why if you could.

With that said, here is my $0.02:

I think that us Dems should nominate Russ Feingold. In the black hole of despair that was the few weeks and months after the 2004 fraudlection, Feingold maintained his liberal voice, even calling for a withdrawal from Iraq. He really truly demonstrates what it means to be a liberal, and his colleagues seem to generally respect him. He's an intellect, well versed in foreign relations, and has shown that he can reach across the aisle and work with the Repugs if necessary. He's an actual legitimate politician with some political street cred.

Nominate away, DU!

1. I endorse selecting Feingold
Russ led the fight against the Patriot Act the 1st and 2nd time, doesn't support in Iraq and he stands up for us.
Go Russ in '08!

As well as fixing the voting machines and taking back a GOP controlled media.

4. I just post this
In another thread. This article says that NY'ers are supporting her for Senate, but won't vote for her in '08 for President. If she can't win in a blue state.. she shouldn't run. We can't afford to lose in '08.

5. The supreme court in 08 trumps any one candidate for me.
Edited on Fri Mar-10-06 05:57 PM by DanCa
Simply put we can't let another conservative get nominated to the supreme court. That's why I'll vote Democrat in 08 regardless of who gets the top spot. And that's why I can't vote for the green candidacy, because my head tells me that a third party wont win, and it will just hurt the Dem candidate.

Now with that being said, I really hope that they do nominate Wes Clark, but I'll vote for the winner no matter who it would be. And that would include a very, very, reluctant vote for Senator Clinton.(Whom I personally hope wont be the nominee.)

Anyhow that's my thoughts on this whole 08 thing. I am of course just stating my opinion and not telling anyone else how to vote. Have a great day people, Danny.
