Wow: In Vermont People Camped Out Overnight To See Obama
I just saw a report on the local news about Barak Obama's visit to Vermont.

Obama spoke today at the Ira Allen Chapel in Burlington, in support of Bernie's Senate run and Peter Welch's House run. The place was mobbed. Over a thousand people in the main Chapel, 300 more in an annex, and hundreds outside. Just an unbelievable scene. They showed people trying to listen with glasses at windows. Much as Vermonters love Bernie, this was all for Obama.

1. I`m still laughing about
"people trying to listen with glasses at windows." That`s one thing I love about Vermonters...their resourcefulness. The numbers were astounding. Again, Vermonters being Vermonters. They really, really care. I love this place.

2. I swear 90% of the Obama bashing on this board must be trolls
Well, maybe 75%, there are some that thought he would be a Malcom X type.

I'm in Illinois so I've met him several times and I can expect to hear him speak several more times in the near future. I'm super excited about Bernie Sanders getting in the US Senate though.

5. He gave a great speech
very enthusiastic about bernie. He was also quite funny. I've never seen a reception for a politician like this in Vermont.

6. I would gladly vote for Obama as VP on the next ticket.
Even as the junior Senator from Illinois, he is more seasoned than * or Quayle or Arnie or a bunch of the other empty suits they put up on the other side ever are. He is articulate and intelligent.

7. Me too.
I'd love to see him on the dem ticket, and by 2008 he'll have been a Senator for nearly 4 years, and he was in elected office in Illinois prior to that.

8. I wish he'd come to the southern end of the state before leaving.
A benefit of living alongside Vermont is that Bernie brings in my favorite people.
