Question on my computer

I have two dvd movies that have an extra dvd disc with bonus stuff on there and this disc you can put in your computer and do stuff on there. I put in the dvd disc but nothing happens when I do. Does anybody know what's wrong and why nothing happens when I put in the disc? Thanks in advanced.

1. Have you used the DVD drive before?

Sometimes you may have two drives and one is only active....

2. I don't think so

I haven't ever bought a DVD before that has the extra computer stuff on it so I haven't ever tried it before. It just doesn't do anything. I install it in the regular CD-rom compartment and it doesn't do anything. :shrug: Do I need something special for it?

3. You need a DVD drive

to do anything with a DVD. A CD drive won't read a DVD.

Anyway of knowing if yours has that capability? We can burn and play DVR's.

5. Double-click on the "My Computer" icon on your desktop

that should show the DVD-drive (as well as the other drives)

Then double-click on the DVD-drive...it should open up a window with the contents of the DVDdisc...look for something like
main.html - and right-click on it and choose "open"

9. Depends. I could do it in maybe 15 minutes.

This is one of those things that is easy if you know how. You need to open the case of your computer, mount it in an open bay and plug some wires into it.

10. Thats an awfully expensive DVD-ROM drive.

You can get a really nice CD/DVD burner for that price. I would go for something like this if all you want to do is read.

On edit: They are pretty easy to hook up if you know what you're doing. If you've never done it before but you can follow the directions, its still pretty easy.
