Battlestar Galactica more relevant than our news (SPOILER WARNING)
Edited on Fri Mar-10-06 10:47 PM by KyuzoGator
Stolen election!

How sad, this fictional sci-fi television show is tackling our issues better than the "real" media.

If you're not watching this show, you should be.

5. I love Battlestar Gallactica
Vote-rigging caused by a spelling error. Wish it were that simple here.

11. I'd say that if the real media said it...
It's still a tv show. I can think of far more interesting television with far more interesting things to say about society that were made 25 YEARS ago and I'd still be laughed at for saying "Everybody has to watch this and see it as the utter truth!" And I ain't talkin' any Star Trek or spinoff either...

7. And at the end...
...the cylons bring "peace thru tyranny". That's where exploiting fear and subjugating your own population gets you. Can't wait to listen to the podcast.

8. Between That, Stargate, and Las Vegas
Edited on Fri Mar-10-06 11:46 PM by AnnieBW
I love BSG. Hated the mini-series, but once they got the characters worked out, it got really good. Well, except for Starblech. Get a frackin' room already! Of course, the great thing about BSG is that the good guys are polytheists and the bad guys are monotheistic religious fanatics.

It was a pretty good night. Las Vegas had a story about an overheard threat to blow up the Montecito by an Arabic-looking guy. Several comments about giving up our liberties for security. They even had a guest character say, "I'm not going to mention a certain President..." Wonder how they got THAT line past the NBC/GE censors?

And Stargate SG-1 had the evil Origin-book thumpers attacking. Not to mention Ben Browder slogging around in the mud.

10. Um. It's ALWAYS been that way.
And sci-fi, through the ages, has always been mocked. No wonder they can slip in any thought they want; the masses are too thick to fathom it out.

BTW: What spoilers? You only gave a two word phrase.

BTW2: What happened to the current President, who whined about having breast cancer for 15 minutes during the miniseries pilot?

12. I gave a spoiler warning....
...because someone from the west coast didn't appreciate me mentioning the stolen election in the Subject line.

As for Roslin, her condition became grave and in a moment of questionable scriptwriting they suddenly discovered that Cylon blood cures cancer.
