1. You know they used to mock Clinton for doing that pursed lips thing
They said it was him trying to look more emotional about things.

Chimp does it all the time. Where's the mockage?

7. What a joke & a waste of time...
I read a few days (maybe a week or so) ago about a robot that senses and explodes IEDs ahead of convoys and that they are something like 95% effective but are not being used in Iraq.
This "Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Task Force" evidently has its collective head up its collective ass. :banghead:

9. This can't be good - it just means their nefarious plot-hatching
is on the increase. There's not enough time during the week to get it all done.

11. But you know "It's hard out here for a chimp"
someone (Leopolds Ghost?) posted a parody of the oscar winning song earlier in the week. It's been in my head ever since.

It's Hard Out Here for a Chimp --by Leopolds Ghost

To the tune of It's Hard out Here For a Pimp by Three 6 Mafia

Well it's hard out here for a chimp
There's a whole lotta Bushes gettin' bent.
While there's not a lot of money bein' spent
To help no hurricane survivors pay the rent.

Well it's hard out here for a chimp
gotta make a livin' on the money poppy sent.
When yo poll numbers start to take a dip
There's a lot of politicians jumpin' ship.

Now it's hard out here for a chimp
When yo foreign allies think you look like Shemp.
And yo high-priced (women) refused to be sent
In they' Manolos to Nola, so you went.

Now it's hard out here for a chimp
When yo clockers think dat they tha prez-ni-dent.
What I give to play touch football wit' Jack Kemp
'Stead of killah Cheney on a huntin' trip.

It's hard out here for a chimp
Competition's got no spyin' on the johns.
This one, sez he's got a black baby and he's limp
Guess he'll back me when I move to take out Saddam.

Well, it's hard out here for a... chimp!!!

12. "Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Task Force...???"
Edited on Sat Mar-11-06 11:45 AM by onager

Task Force? WTF?

Umm...you "defeat" IEDs by defeating the people using them. Unfortunately, this may not be an option for us in Iraq at the present time. :sarcasm:

I'm certainly not in the same league as $hrubby's...cough...experts, but I know of exactly one case in the Middle East where the radical Islamic insurgents were defeated.

This is probably not an option for us, either, though I bet Dumsfeld would love to try it:

The goal of the attack on Hama was to cease the rebellious activities of the Islamist Muslim Brotherhood. The assault began on February 2 with extensive shelling of the town of 350,000 inhabitants. Syrian special forces entered and began to slaughter its inhabitants, with many others fleeing.

According to Amnesty International, the Syrian military bombed the old streets of the city from the air to facilitate the introduction of military forces and tanks through the narrow streets, where homes were crushed by tanks during the first four days of fighting. They also claim that the Syrian military pumped poison gas into buildings where insurgents were said to be hiding.

The attack was not widely publicized at the time as the Syrian government made a determined effort to keep information from getting out. However, within Syria, the massacre was publicized in order to act as a deterrent. Thomas Friedman points out that never again have Muslim extremists threatened the Syrian government.
