1. Here ya go
Country trio the DIXIE CHICKS are planning to re-ignite their feud with US President GEORGE W BUSH in a provocative new song. The group sparked controversy when singer NATALIE MAINES publicly criticised Bush during a concert in London in 2003 - and fans staged bonfires, where they burned CDs and merchandise after calling the girls traitors. That led to Maines sobbing during an apologetic interview on US TV. But the feisty singer remains defiant and has penned new tune NOT READY TO MAKE NICE, which addresses the controversy surrounding her concert comments. Maines teamed up with former SEMISONIC frontman DAN WILSON to write the song, which begins, "Forgive, sounds good/Forget, I'm not sure I could/They say time heals everything/But I'm still waiting." The provocative track will appear on the Dixie Chicks' upcoming album TAKING THE LONG WAY HOME, which was produced by RICK RUBIN and features guest appearances from RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS drummer CHAD SMITH and guitarist MIKE CAMPBELL. The album also features the song I HOPE, which the Dixie Chicks wrote with blues star KEB' MO' as a tribute to the victims of Hurricane Katrina last year (05).

5. It'll be in my collection as soon as available
YO GO GIRLS. And to think your existence sends free republic members into a tizzy; how nice. Toby Keith still hasn't answered my email inquiries about why he never served in the military. Guess flag waving's more powerful. Along with that other country cretin daryl worly. Bad ass motherfuckers as long as their standing firmly on the "homeland."

7. They didn't get that much grief the last time
The grief they got was just well publicized.

6. The Headline is a little misleading
The song isn't so much about Bush as it is the over-the-top reaction to what Natalie said in London.

BTW, I know a lot of folks think Toby Keith is a chicken hawk right winger, but he really isn't. Feud with the Chicks aside, Toby is a Democrat. Granted, he was jingoistic with "Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue," but more than anything else, he has a great deal of respect for those serving in the military and has written songs glorifying them...not glorifying the policies of Chimpy McNucular.

And I've heard Daryl Worley clarify "Have You Forgotten," saying it's about Afghanistan, rather than Iraq. I don't know if I believe that, but that's what he says.

9. Toby Keith is an ass
My sister sat behind him at a college basketball game last year and she said he was drunk, went on and on about bush when they played a Dixie Chicks song at halftime and even spilled his beer on the person in front of him. Security had to come and warn him to calm down.

If you'll be my dixie chicken, I'll be your Tennessee lamb

and we can walk together down in Dixieland, down in Dixieland

Any group who gets their name from a Lowell George song and tells
the powers that be to back off that they will play their own instruments
thank you very much, like Bob Wills, and stand up to * are OK by me.
