I am SICK Of Getting My Car Keyed but I Don 't Want to Take my Stickers Off
I have just had my car keyed for the second time this week! This is just pissing me off!
:grr:

I am sure it is because of my bumper stickers. I have had them on for over two years and nothing had happened up until now. The fundie freepers must be really frustrated these days to resort to such juvenile behavior. I Wish I had caught them in the act.

Stupid MFer repuke freaks! :argh:

my stickers....

12. That's a VERY GOOD POINT. Ask store about location of security cameras.
Find out if the store or location has archived security camera coverage. Park near one of the cameras. Next time this happens, do NOT move your car. Call the cops and make a formal complaint. Then, request that the cops review the security camera footage.

Malicious mischief (misdemeanor) and personal property distruction over $2000 (felony).

41. Sorry to rain on your parade,
but the camera would have to be pointed at your vehicle and zoomed-in so you could recognize the culprit. You would have to know the person or the police wouldhave to visually recognize the culprit..OR the camera would have to have recorded the license plate of the offender's vehicle.

Then, it would have to be a clear enough shot to catch the action of the person actually keying your car.

Sorry

32. Tomorrow???
Excuse me, but if my car had been keyed, I'd have gone into the store immediately to see if an employee had seen it or to request the videos. Especially if it were the second time. And if I hadn't thought of it at the time, I'd certainly be on the phone immediately when it was suggested.

5. Put your stickers on magnetic backing
The kind that you can get at your local hobby store.

Then when you have to park somewhere for a while, peel them off and throw them in the trunk. Then put them back on when you leave.

I'm all for keeping the message out there as much as possible, but getting your car keyed twice in one week is just ridiculous.

8. You could rig your car with a proximity alarm or electrify it.
I nice non-lethal shock would be enough to deter the assholes. If you don't want to go that route, then maybe a proximity alarm would work well.

You are getting keyed because the Repukes are becoming frustrated...they are starting to lash out because the cognitive dissonance is becoming uncomfortable.

Stay strong.

To have to go that far.
So when a Mom with her little kids park next to the car the kids get shocked for putting their little hand on the bumper to steady themselves if they are new to walking.
We need to find a way to make only the guilty pay. The innocent have been paying since the beginning of time.

9. you could put the stickers on magnets
so that they will come off, thus avoid a keying.

Once I was at my buddies house. Our friend had just got out of the Army (he is my brother in law now, by the way). We went down to my car to head out on the town.

When we got to my car, I had noticed that someone had spit on my window. I said, "Hey! Someone spit on my car!" My (now) brother in law responded, "Oh. Sorry. I didn't know it was your car. I just saw the Hillary bumpersticker!" That happened in 2000. He voted for Kerry in 2004.

10. this is what we are dealing with
Yesterday, Sam Seder was substituting for Randi Rhodes, and a lady and her attorney were on. It seems her employer found out she had an AAR bumper sticker on her car, and fired her on the spot. This happened in California, where there are laws against such things. They are taking the company to court.

14. The Bush cult strikes:
Characteristics of a Cult:

- The group's way is the only way to enlightenment.

- The group is elitist, claiming it is the only one that has the truth. Members are the chosen people and are superior to other members of society.

- The group refuses to consider that it might be wrong.

- Such groups often have a polarized us-versus-them mentality, which may cause conflict with society.

- The group believes its exalted status or ends justify the means the group uses to achieve the ends. This is even though such means might be considered unethical or illegal by members of society, or members prior to their indoctrination.

- Such groups are often anti-woman, anti-child, and anti-family.

- Scripture is often taken out of context or used very sparingly to support the group's views. Narrow and unusual interpretations of the Bible are common. Whole Bible teaching is avoided.

- It is understood that former members must be avoided and treated with suspicion, ridicule, and/or patronizing sympathy.

- The group focuses upon a leadership that members appear to display a zealous, unquestioning commitment towards.

- Often the members' allegiance is based upon the belief the leadership is, or represents, the Messiah, an avatar, a prophet, or possesses a special anointing from God.

- The group's leadership is not accountable to any authorities.

- Significant, and sometimes total, decision making authority rests with the leadership.

- The leadership of the group will impose pressure or may openly dictate, sometimes in great detail, how members should think, act and feel

- The leadership will often answer questions differently depending upon who is the speaker and who is the listener.

- Obedience to the leadership is understood to be required and expected from members.

- Indiscretions and improper conduct by the leadership are often ignored or covered up.

- Independent thought, rational examination of the group, asking questions, expressing doubt, or expressing dissent are discouraged or even punished.

- Members are not to discuss any negative feelings or opinions they may have concerning the group.

- There is little or no room for interpretation or deviation from the group's beliefs.

- The group's doctrines are often vague, have inconsistencies, and illogical thought patterns but are to be accepted without question, though not necessarily understood.

- The group's unwritten rules and traditions take precedence over Bible scripture.

- Members are expected to distrust themselves and their own intuition but instead place their trust completely in the group's beliefs.

- A perceived flaw in the group is really only a flaw in the member.

- Members are encouraged or required to live with and socialize only with other members of the group.

- Members learn to understand that individuality is bad and conformity is good.

- The leadership maintains some form of surveillance over the members. Informers or gossips are used by the leadership as a method of surveillance and control.

- The group often makes use of jargon or common words with special definitions in order to confuse any outsider's examinations of the group.

- Secrecy of the group's activities is maintained with a wall of silence.

etc. etc.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

i.e. the Bush cultists are shit worshippers.

38. Let's see, The new, smaller hummer is lighter, less powerful,
doesn't have the extra-wide wheelbase of the original --

Which pretty much makes it just another dangerous SUV with its high center of gravity making it susceptible to roll-over and its windshield his body mass making it a rolling blockade for anyone who isn't also driving an SUV.

So you're paying for a brand name and getting a product that is inferior to the original design which, though it is an overpriced urban assault vehicle, at least doesn't roll over on a sharp corner.

But whatever floats your boat. Or battleship.

he would like it if i drove a bigger car. i pointed out to him that when his daughter had an accident with her big F-450 (ford), she was hurt pretty badly and was out of work for months.

he's very sensitive about the miata because years ago his co-worker's wife and mother were killed in a miata accident.

i figure if something is meant to happen -- it will happen. meantime i'm driving a great little fun car.:)

26. Bumper stickers also cause the "sun fade" effect
You know, where the paint of your car fades in the sun except in one or two rectangular areas on the bumper or trunk lid. It can look pretty bad when you're trying to resell the car. And there's nothing you can do about it.

I use the magnetic approach. Just basically have them on while I'm driving around (and I have some doozies).

48. I second the advice
You can't always get through to AAA, and the ability to change a flat is something every driver should know.

Nagonizing: that's what my 12-year-old calls me ;)

I have a car I love, and it has been beat up a little bit so I don't care if some idiot hates my stickers. Most people enjoy them it seems and they embolden other people to speak out, so I won't ever take them off.

The other family car is nicer and the kids drive it so it remains unadorned. There are some crazies out there. You do what you have to do but I hate that anyone would feel unable to express their opinions on a vehicle.

I would never deface another's property over politics either, so what is that all about?

And, hey. Learn how to change a flat!!!!!
