Gregory Haidl, a corporately sponsored skateboarder, is the 19 year old son of wealthy Orange County Assistant Sheriff Don Haidl, and he is a piece of ... work shall we say. Greg and a couple of the OC’s finest took advantage of an opportunity to gangrape a 16 year old female classmate who had become very intoxicated. To add insult to injury (this is not a figure of speech in this case) these fine young men of the OC memorialized the events on videotape for their future enjoyment. Not content to merely film your standard every day gangrape, the boys decided to spice things up by inserting various foreign objects into the young lady while taking turns having their way with her. You may be assuming that these young cretins are at this time languishing in prison for their exertions, but you would be wrong, quite wrong indeed.

You see, Greg Haidl’s daddy is worth approximately $91 million give or take, and as I mentioned, he is a former Assistant Sheriff for the OC. Greg’s legal team was spared no expense as you might imagine, and if you combine that with a scenario tailor made for influence peddling of the worse sort, you get a hung jury and a mistrial. Not just a mistrial, but a mistrial where the defendants are released on $100,000 bail. $100,000 bail bonds can be obtained with the equity increase in an OC home in 60 days; a check written from a home equity line of credit ought to do the trick. Under the circumstances, you might expect that Greg, facing a retrial, would be minding his Ps and Qs and all the rest of the alphabet for that matter. Once again dear reader, you would be incorrect. The litany of entanglements he has had with law enforcement SINCE HIS RELEASE has been quite prolific and profoundly disturbing. Apparently unfulfilled by the gangrape, Greg was arrested again for the statutory rape of another 16 year old he met at a party his daddy put on to celebrate his mistrial. Since this rape was somehow not seen as a violation of Haidl's bail, young Gregory recently managed to maneuver into a head-on collision with his car while driving drunk. That is the incident that we KNOW about. Haidl was also involved in a marijuana possession incident that reeks of official coverup. Greggy Poo has been very busy menacing the OC since he narrowly avoided his own gangrape at the tender hands of the inmates in the California State Correctional facility he so richly deserves to inhabit.

You may be saying to yourself that you understood that the OC is the most notable Republican enclave in the Golden State, and this time dear reader, you are correct. In fact Greg’s daddy is a Republican big wig in his own right. And therein it seems lies much of the problem. Sheriff Haidl is deserving of much of the credit for what his miscreant progeny has become. This man’s behavior in this entire incident has been nothing short of despicable, and the man has repeatedly thrown his weight around the OC without compunction in an effort to place his son above the law. I do have a certain amount of compassion for a father whose child is under the threat of prison, but there is a point at which protecting your child becomes threatening mine. Sheriff Haidl has long since leapt across this particular threshold and is now flirting with public corruption.

SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) -- The son of a former Orange County assistant sheriff and two friends were each sentenced Friday to six years in prison for the videotaped sexual assault of an unconscious teenage girl.

The sentences came after the victim told the judge she had been violated "in every way possible" and urged the maximum penalty so her attackers could feel the same pain she did.

Now 20, she choked back tears as she described viewing the taped assault so she could testify against the men effectively.

The video, which has not been made public, shows the nude victim being sexually assaulted on a pool table, prosecutors said.

For example, Sheriff Mike Carona used his second in command in a bold-faced but ultimately vain attempt to influence the Newport Beach police investigation. Seeking dirt on the victim, Greg’s mother, Gail, hired people to post fliers in Doe’s neighborhood. Later, the defense hired a professional publicist and several teams of private detectives to attack her and her family. She was tracked like a dog and subject to countless smears. She found temporary relief in methamphetamines, a drug she says she’s been working hard to overcome in recent months.

It’s hardly surprising her life spiraled out of control. One Haidl dick—John Warren, a former ranking FBI agent in Santa Ana—disclosed Doe’s identity to students at the high school she had transferred to. Most of her friends abandoned her, shamelessly siding with Haidl, the son of a man reportedly worth more than $40 million. The defense illegally leaked her private medical records to the media, a move that Los Angeles Times columnist Dana Parsons rewarded by downplaying the crime and belittling District Attorney Tony Rackauckas for filing felony charges. On the witness stand, Doe was called “a slut” and “a liar” by lead defense lawyer Joe Cavallo. She was forced to stare at enlarged pictures of her own vagina during torturous cross examinations. The defendants floated the idea that she had raped them. In front of the jury, defense lawyer Peter Morreale asked her if she liked to swallow after oral sex. At another point, defense lawyers argued that she faked unconsciousness to shoot a necrophilia-based sex video. They claimed she wanted to launch a porn career and the defendants were merely obliging her wishes.

“Faking?” asked jury foreman Ruiz. “No way. You can see on the video that she was only conscious for the first couple of minutes. After that, they were propping her up. Whatever they gave her knocked her out in my opinion. Even before they let go of her and her head hit the couch, it was obvious the line had been crossed. and that big shot daddy finds himself living on a cop's salary instead of the income from a $40 million stash. Let's hope she sues the lot of them for damages and wins the legal lottery, bigtime.

If anyone deserved millions of dollars in punitive damages for misconduct at all levels of law enforcement, this girl does.

That's an absolutely appalling inferential commentary on the state of our public morals! Is the 'norm' now to make such things public in order to rape that young woman not just twice but every time another person views it?? (My God!) I hope she files a civil suit and gets a very healthy chunk of rape-daddy's $91 million, little Greg's eventual death-tax-free inheritance.
