Huh? Earthquakes beneath Lake Erie?

MENTOR, Ohio -- A small earthquake shook northeast Ohio for a few seconds Saturday, the fourth and largest quake to hit the area this year, according to the Ohio Seismic Network.


The quake was centered about three miles off of Mentor beneath Lake Erie, said Mike Hansen, the network's coordinator.

It is unusual to get this many earthquakes in a short period of time in Ohio, Hansen said.

1. My g.friend's dog was going nuts...pacing the floor, acting scared..

whining....she lives in Pa...I, on the other hand, live in earthquake country...so I told her to check the local seismic map on line, because the dog sounded as though he sensed an earthquake...and sure enough, that was exactly what was going on.....that is kinda strange...I was born and raised in NW Pa (close to Erie)...I don't remember anyone ever mentioning earthquakes back there..

2. I live in NW Ohio

and I have felt earthquakes before. One while I was standing in the dining room of my parent's home and a shelf with china on it started to shake. It was freaky. Nothing recently though.
