While in Bay St. Louis yesterday, delivering bedding and kitchen kits to people in FEMA trailers, usedtobesick and I decided to pop over to take a photo of the Route 90 bridge between Bay St. Louis and Pass Christian.



When we got there, there was an NBC truck (national, not a local affiliate), and a crowd of about 30 people gathered at the drop-off. When we got closer, we saw that Trent Lott and John McCain talking about getting much-needed aid to the Mississippi Coast.





Oh, Little Freepers! Don't you wish YOU could get this close to your glorious leaders? And doesn't it make you burn with resentment that a bleeding heart liberal was able to stand next to these bozos simply because my bleeding heart moved me to work relief on the Coast?

I was hoping the same thing, but according to progressive locals, he's still the same old "good ol' boy." He's just pissed at the insurance companies because his personal property was destroyed and not covered. And maybe lying low because 2005 wasn't exactly a stellar year for him politically, either.
