Have been illegal here in Alabama since 98 and in Georgia before that. There may be a few other states as well.

The law here in Alabama was challenged and withstood that challenge in federal court a while back.

31. Last I heard, GOP camp counselors like to use them on young boys
The boy is one of 17 middle school students, ages 11 through 15, who police reports say were assaulted by three teenage counselors at a camp for school leaders in Prescott last summer. One of the counselors was Clifton Roy Bennett, the 18-year-old son of Arizona Senate President Ken Bennett.

4. HAHAHAHA. The funny thing here in VA is that the people
having 'sex toy' parties are rethugs. One of my neighbors sells sex toys to because 'as a good Christian, it is important to keep the fires burning.'

I guess I'm not a good Christian, because I won't go. I don't think I want the entire neighborhood discussing my purchases.

OMG, there are SO MANY ways to run with that gem! Nice that they can rationalize it for THEIR SIDE.

And, atheists who wanna keep a little hot in their state sanctioned unions? Is it OK for them to buy toys? ;)

These guys just crack me up.

when she told me about her new line of business. I told her that I guess those poor Jews and Muslims won't get any nookie if they can't keep those fires a'burning.

Hypocritical asshats. The worst part of those parties is that no one can keep their mouth shut. I really don't want everyone in my neighborhood to know I bought the chocolate flavored gel.

I think that the idea of having a party related to sex toys is voyeuristic and a bit freaky...

I can just imagine leaving one of those parties and finding out later that one of the gals tells her creepy husband about all the kinky stuff you bought...then the next thing you know you have the creepy husband following you around..

7. Wow Is That Beyond Absurd. Makes Me Want To Become A Wholesale Distributor
of "Make Your Own Dildo" kits down there. Way I read the law, those kits would be legal. Their primary use and marketing is NOT to be used as a sexual device, it is to make a mold of yourself that can THEN be used in that manner. But the kit itself, a bucket and some liquid rubber, on its own can in no way be used to stimulate, isn't 3 dimensional, and as far as I can read the law would be legal under it.

Yes, I can sell a ton of them there, I think.

19. Did you read the list of people who will be exempt from
prosecution?

(c) This section shall not apply when the distribution or wholesale distribution of
the device was made by:
(1) A person, corporation, company, partnership, firm, association,
business, establishment or other legal entity to a person associated with an
institution of higher learning, either as a member of the faculty or as a
matriculated student, teaching or pursuing a course of study related to such
device;
(2) A licensed physician or a licensed psychologist to a person whose
receipt of such device was authorized in writing by such physician or
psychologist in the course of medical or psychological treatment or care; or
(3) A person who while acting in his capacity as an employee is employed
on a full-time or part-time basis by:
(A) Any recognized historical society or museum accorded
charitable status by the federal government;
(B) Any state, county or municipal public library; or
(C) Any library of any public or private school, college or university
in this state.

Does this mean that people in Tennessee will have to head down to their local historical society, museum or public library to get one? Would you have to use on the premises or would they allow you to check it out like a book?

30. here is a true dildo story, my wifes friend took a battery operated Dildo
on a first date in case it didn't go well...

he had a pick-up truck and it had stiff suspension, it hit a bump and her vibrator went off and was vibrating against the stuff in her bag.. he stopped and crawled under the dash .. she hit her bag and it quit..

he starts up the truck and apologizes .. he said he had a problem with short in the heater fan starting up when he hit a bump.. then they hit another bump and the vibrator went off again and again he stopped and fiddled with the wires.. and she hit her bag and it stopped.. this happened 3 or four times, he was so nice and polite and handy with tools she started to really like him..

later in bed she told him what was making the noise and they had a good laugh.. they had been together at that time for 4 years..

If I was a republican, that would mean that I was completely unable to please "my woman", even if I were willing to, which of course I would not be. So OF COURSE we would have to ban dildos (and all manner of buzzy implements) - because I never want "my woman" to know that it's possible to enjoy sex. Then she would start gettin all sorts of funny ideas about leaving me n what-not.

Makes perfect sense to me...

50. From my indie musician friend Danielle's blog
Danielle Miraglia - http://www.myspace.com/daniellemiraglia - is an indie musician about ready to break through. She has her first headling gig at Club Passim in Cambridge (you know, the place where Joan Baez and Eric Von Schmidt got their starts, and Bob Dylan, Phil Ochs, Dave Van Ronk sprung to national prominance.....

If there are any indie musician promoters, take note of her.

Anyway, this is from her blog. I thought it was a good counterpoint to how we treat dildos in MassaBLUEsetts.

http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.controlcenter&MyToken=029b60ec-ae25-4d6c-b2bf-f8236521f3f0

It's not often that I get hit in the shoulder with a rubber dildo in the middle of a set and not get angry about it. Saturday night at The Skellig in Waltham, MA Tom Bianchi, Paul Chiasson (Tall Palm) and I were playing a good tight set to a packed audience. The most conspicuous of the crowd was a bachelorette party of girls dressed up like Madonna. Earlier when they first walked in I had only spotted one. When I saw the fluorescent pink bow in her hair, matching off the shoulder top and denim mini-skirt, I thought she just normally dressed that way. I turned to my friend Jim and said "Oh my god, that's how I used to dress in the third grade." To which he replied, "I feel for your father."

The thing that was most odd about this bachelorette party was that even through all the standard erotic faux-lesbian dance moves, penis shaped lollipop licking and dildo wielding, these girls were actually really cool. They gladly danced to the original tunes and didn't once interrupt us in the middle of a song with a lame request. So we were happy to complete their 80's theme. It began with Tom busting into the bass line to "Like a Virgin." I never realized just how well I know the words to that song right down to the oohs and aaahs even correcting the writhing white-laced bride-to-be and friends when they sang "You make me feel" when the line was "Cause' your love thawed out."

<snip>

Somewhere during the night a very realistic looking rubber dildo was thrown and hit me in the shoulder. I was having too much fun to be mad about it. I simply picked it up and strummed my guitar with it, causing a couple of guys in the front to wince. Then I threw it back into the crowd.

For a moment, my mind drifted and I thought of Ozzy's incident in the 80's when someone had thrown a real dead bat onstage. He bit the head off thinking it was made of rubber. I was glad my instincts weren't to bite the head off of the rubber dildo...just in case.

56. VERY threatening to the sexually immature legislators
You see, dildos represent a direct competition to their own "members".

Can't have that.

Where would women be without dependence on the male phallus? Nowhere, thet's where.

Why don't they just get counselling, instead of forcing their own inadequacies on the rest of us?

58. Dildos should be mandatory
Seriously. Everyone needs to have a dildo. WHen you get a marriage license not only should the little gift basket include the dishwashing detergent and the Spic n Span, it should have a dildo. And the batteries. They are useless without batteries.

71. Dildos have a legitimate medical purpose
My doctor has repeatedly warned me about prostate cancer and recommends frequent massage of the prostate gland either with a dildo or *wink wink nudge nudge* other methodologies.

At the time I was in a gay relationship so he said "oh, you'll be all right then".

75. Simply display your vibrators as art
they cant touch them then - it becomes a first amendment issue.

Display them in a backlit cabinet, or on your coffee table, or hang them on the wall, with or without a frame.

76. If It's For "EDUCATIONAL" Purposes, it's Okay
I watched this thing on Free Speech TV about this very subject and the owner of the shop said "the educational device" everytime she referred to the dildo.

That is, if you need this penis shaped plastic thing to demonstrate to say...a person or class of persons how to put on a condom, then it's perfectly legal.
