I guess there won't be a Reagan $10 bill
Since the Bureau of Engraving and Printing has gone to all the trouble of redesigning the $10 bill with Alexander Hamilton still on it.

The new $10 bill was just released into circulation. If you haven't seen one yet, here's a picture:

1. Actually they couldn't decide........
between Reagan and Hitler so they just stuck with Hamilton.

6. Yeah, I've got a Reagan I.O.U. for 'em.
Payable upon maturation of your children. Thank god Bill Clinton forced the Republicans to find a way to pay for all those Reagan I.O.U.s that were put into circulation. Unfortunately, the guy who pays down the new deficit may have to be wearing a bulletproof cape.

12. Reagan and Bush Should Be On Government BONDS!
Edited on Sun Mar-12-06 05:23 PM by AndyTiedye
Reagan and Bush (both of them, but especially the younger) have excelled beyond all others
at running up government debt. It seems only fitting that their likeness should be on the
instruments of that debt, i.e. government bonds, after they leave office. We are still paying
for Reagan and Bush I, and we can barely pay the interest on the interest on the debt Bush II
has run up -- we will be paying for Bush II forever.

14. Borrow and spend republicans !
It always cracks me up when I hear a freeper rail on "tax and spend" liberals.

I remind them that Democrats like to pay the bills while "borrow and spend" republicans just like to bury us in debt.

My theory is that republicans know their time is short when they obtain the reins of power. They can only rob the Treasury so long before even the heartiest kool-aid drinkers realize what is happening. So the republicans borrow massive amounts of money for short term political gain, funneling most of that money to huge contributors, e.g. war-profiteering corporations. They know that Democrats will inherit the pile of shit they leave behind, and they can then blame everything on the Dems! How many times do we have to see this cycle repeated before people wise up??
