Thoughts on the "Saddam Trial"....
Edited on Sun Mar-12-06 06:23 PM by Postman
Do you think the prosecution strategy is to try him on some early crime, find him guilty, then execute him to whitewash US history of past support?

Maybe they don't even have to execute him, who has heard anything from Manuel Noriega since his "capture" in 1989?

Ramsey Clark was on C-Span a week or so ago explaining how they are putting obstacles in the path of providing an adequate defense.

Even if Hussein had proof of US complicity, the way corporate owned media reports the news it would just be the "ramblings of a crazed man"..the whitewash of US evil deeds is built into the system.

1. US history of past support? What US history of past support?

2. Fuck him. Fuck "adequate defense." They should take him out back
and shoot him now, and get it over with.

I'd do the job myself, if asked to.

He's a fucking monster, and the fact that we should not have invaded Iraq does not change that.

3. But he was "our" monster during his worst crimes....
"our" meaning US foreign policy-makers.

Maybe your anger is misplaced.

4. Doesn't make him any less of a monster. Stalin was "our monster"
during World War 2.

I get your point, already, for Christ's sake. But monstrous acts by our government do NOT diminish his monstrosity.

I'll pull the trigger if they can't find anyone else to.

6. That's definitely the plan, and why they chose 1982 crimes.
The last thing they want is to make relevant the entire Reagan and Bush I administrations.

Once again, where are media and educators demanding a trial of Saddam's entire reign, not just a small segment from long ago?
