George Allen doesn't know what party he's in!
Today on Meet The Press, Russert asked Allen if he was a "Bush REpublican". Allen replied (repeatedly) that he was a "Jeffersonian Conservative".

Jefferson was one of the Founders of the Democratic Party!!!!

This group of Anti-Federalists, who called themselves Republicans or Democratic Republicans (the name was not fixed as Democratic until 1828), supported many of the ideals of the French Revolution and opposed close relations with Great Britain.

Led by Jefferson and his ally James Madison, the group had become a nationwide party by 1800

 What a MORAN!

4. Yeah, he's pandering. But a quote like that is just too good!
I just emailed Russert pointing this out. I'd love for him to read it on the air, but I won't hold my breath....

7. One of the great ironies...
The University of Virginia Darden School of Business turns out right wingers like this at an astronomical rate, thus why they feel comfortable describing themselves as "Jeffersonian Conservatives". Jefferson must be spinning in his grave.

11. No doubt about it.
But any politician in Virgina would be digging his/her own grave taking opposition to Jefferson -- the Eternal Favorite Son (or FFather) - right?

3. My take
The are RUNNING as fast as they can AWAY from Bush. They are abandoning ship. They don't want to be associated with a dead duck.

The 2006 elections are not far away. Given Bush's poll numbers, do they want to risk not being elected by hitching to Bush's wagon?

8. I saw him on MTP.
He also doesn't understand Constitutional rights. He thinks that the way Roe v Wade has been applied means states can't decide about abortion for themselves in a "democratic" way. And I guess they should also decide if people can own Darkies or let women vote in a "democratic" way. asshole!!!

NSA tracks secret liberal lab
(Satire)

Odd Squad News

February 24, 2006

Unconfirmed sources have alleged that the National Security Agency is investigating a report that liberal American scientists have established a secret time travel laboratory somewhere in the Pacific Northwest and are planning to use the device to bring back certain American historical figures to counter the claims of the Bush Administration.

"The theory," said one anonymous source, "is that if they bring back such luminaries as George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, and Teddy Roosevelt, they'll be able to put this administration on the run."

The NSA has so far refused to comment on the case, though an agency spokesperson responded with a rueful laugh and a shake of his head when asked about it.

"What they have to worry about," said one Presidential historian, "is keeping Thomas Jefferson away from weapons--he's likely to march right out and launch a second American revolution on the spot.

"That's assuming, of course, that time travel isn't just yet another liberal daydream. These poor people are DYING for leadership."

14. You've got that right. Allen was probably the only
teenager in Southern California to drive around during the late 1960's with Confederate flag stickers on the back of his car. Didn't hide his racism either. In fact it was his hobby. I'm hoping some of my other hs classmates start speaking up. I've told several reporters about the racist graffiti he spraypainted on the walls of the school and given them names of others who could corroborate the story - if they wanted to. Hoping the real unvarnished Allen is exposed before November. He's a piece of work.

13. I have heard George Allen
refer to Ronald Reagan as a "modern day Thomas Jefferson". Allen brings up Reagan in many of his interviews and loves being compared to him. I think we will be hearing a lot of this rhetoric in the coming year(s). He will distance himself from Bush and become the "new Reagan". Barf!
