Why should we call or Senators to vote for Censure

Over and over again congress critters have said that calls from constituents make a real difference in how they vote or whether or not they choose to take up or ignore a particular cause.

They often do not lend support and resources to issues that where they have no clear constituent support.

That's especially true of fast moving issues like this censure call. They need to know where THEIR voters stand. The do want to be re-elected, and voter opinion looms large in all decisions.

If you don't believe calls and letters make a difference, consider the public outcry about the Dubai Ports deal.

after Alito-- my eyes are way wide open to the absolute sham of our democracy. My senators damn near always vote on the side of the angels, but the truth is so rarely spoken, that their carefully worded responses piss me off as much as the 'media's' gibberish. I think it's kind of like getting back up on the horse.

16. If you are for or against something, seek your due representation.

It's an individual voter issue. Your vote is your representation in Washington. If they want to be re-elected to represent you, they will listen.

If you don't tell them where you as one of their constituents stand on fast evolving issues, then they'll use their resources on other issues that are known.

A vote is a terrible thing to waste. A hundred calls means another hundred thousand that didn't get a chance to call to the rep. They are influenced by calls not in proportion to the individual, but the interest in an issue.

Sometimes it takes more than one set of calls, but over time it makes a VERY BIG DIFFERENCE.

Keep the pressure on...turn the pressure up!

Anyone that hasn't called their reps before, or gave up on calling...I urge you to paticipate. Al Gore told us recently that "We the People" are the only ones that can take back our country and protect and defenc the Constitution.

I take him at his word, and my take is that citizenship is a non-passive activity.

Do we just roll over and stop fighting? Sometime, someday they have to start listening to the PEOPLE. We have to get them on record. Where do they stand? With the Constitution? Or this criminal administration?
