We haven't even had an investigation into these programs yet, we don't even know what all Bush has done. We should use this censure resolution to demand all of Bush's secret programs be fully investigated and whether it really is constitutional that the President can do whatever he wants, which is the claim of the "inherent authority" bunch.

14. I think anyone who agrees that a President breaking the law

is bad for the country WILL vote "Yea" on censure.

Those proposing to change the law to make the crimes of the President legal are no different than those in the Bush Regime who redefine torture to justify torture - as if that somehow makes it any less torture. Changing the law won't change the fact that Bush broke the law - it will just allow him to get away with breaking the law.

Frankly, if you can support Bush getting away with breaking this (spying)law, then you can't really claim you care about any of his crimes. A President breaking the law is a President betraying the country. It really is that simple.

And yeah, doing the right thing for the country comes with a very high cost sometimes...and if you're not willing to pay that price, then you're not really about serving the people - you're about serving yourself.

then by all means vote for censure. I wouldn't want them to do it just out of partisan politics though. Remember - Feingold voted to investigate Clinton during the impeachement debacle. He was the only democrat to do so. Keep the 'ol integrity intact and others will find it hard to argue against you. Feingold has a ton of integrity, imo. Am I making sense?
