7. They have NO solutions for the problems we all face
Yet they deride DEMS for not offering solutions! :eyes:

When a DEM does offer suggestions, as Murtha did a while back, the neocons co-opt the idea then Swift Boat the originator.

2. Did you hear Sec. Leavitt today on cspan today?
He was pre-emptively blaming state and local governments for any govt failures in the case of a bird flu epidemic. He said that some local governments won't be prepared and there will be no help for their people. Those people will be primarily poor and minority, I guarantee you.

5. Did he mention how locals are to deal when Guard and many
reservists (some of whom are first responders in their communities) are IN IRAQ?

If the locals are to take the blame BEFORE the fact, at least give them their resources back! Lots of manpower and equipment was commandeered by the junta to supplement the regular armed forces for that little tiff that's been raging for three years now.

Mayors and Governors should go en masse and beat on some doors in D.C.

6. Nevada
There was a recent meeting of State and Federal folks, including Leavitt, in Nevada.

The guy I know who was there pays only attention to politics to the extent that they directly effect him. My sense is that means he doesn't pay much attention at all.

After this meeting he was very aroused and upset. His words to me was that the plan, from the perspective of the Feds, is that there IS NO PLAN. They gave the state a million dollar budget and told them to go make a plan.

So they make a decision not to help much, push the responsibility out to the states, and pre-emptively attack them for failing...

Grilled tuna anyone?

9. Join me in the world of
vegetarians! No mad cow, no mercury from fish, and no bird flu. It is not the reason I went vegetarian, but I now see my choice as a wise one!!

Sardines in olive oil might be better choice.
