I Get It! It Is Too EARLY in The Political Season For Dems To Back Russ F!
As explained by howard fineman on Countdown, the reason Reid and most Dems did not back Russ Fiengold's censure motion is it is too early for them to go out on a limb in the polical season! Apparently Reid could have called for full senate debates and did not? I get it now, it is all about politics and NOT the Constitution or the country!!

:grr:

1. Fineman also said they're afraid of it.
And that's probably true. Sadly, Feingold is about the only one of the whole sorry bunch who has any cojones.

5. Don't cry. Molly Ivins has a really good article
about the DLC type Democrats and she has some good ideas about what we can do. I think it is her latest article so you could see it in a newspaper or online soon.

2. Based on the balls he's shown and the lack thereof
from the rest of the dems, he's got my vote so far.

4. I wanted to throw something at the teevee when I heard that!
I am so f-ing sick and tired of these spineless wimps. I think Howard was right when he said that one reason the Dems didn't strongly stand behind Feingold is that that are still somewhat "gun shy" about doing that. Well, if not now, WHEN?????? And as you said, leftchick, it is about the politics. They are essentially saying that the Constitution and the country are only worth fighting for when it is politically prudent to do so.

As I said in another post, we need to take action, and start hitting our Dem Senators and Representatives hard, via email, phone, snailmail, face-to-face if possible, and let them know we expect them to stand up for us, for the Constitution, and for the country. It is evident we cannot leave it up to them. They were elected to represent us, so let's make 'em. And if they don't, lets start finding people who will. Think of it this way: we are THEIR bosses, and as such, it is up to US to kick their collective asses to get them to do what they are supposed to do, or to fire them if they don't.

9. Related to that, Levin said yesterday on Late Edition that he
wanted to wait until after the Senate Intel investigation to censure the president. But there isn't going to BE a Senate Intel investigation-surely Levin knows that.

6. The "not as bad party" playing it safe...as usual.
God forbid they should risk their seats at the trough and endanger their brib...er campaing contributions by actually representing the people and doing their jobs. It wouldn't be "smart" politics.
