EXcept those FRIGGING fundraiser people keep on breaking in every 11 and a half minutes...

6. Haven't they been doing these fund raisers on PBS for a long time now?
I mean, since way before the repukes took over PBS.

They're almost totally dependent on pledges and corporate donations now.

They used to pull half their operating budget from congress approved grants.

The very concept of a PBS seems to drive Neo-cons in to a rabid frenzy. They say it's a purple dinosaur that illicits their ire.

I think it's that PBS was structured to be highly immune to political pressure and abuse.

Never underestimate the power of purple dinosaurs.

11. The problem is
They have all the good stuff I want to watch during the fund drives. My local stations always does a big Dr. Who or Red Dwarf marathon.

2. They had an awesome Springsteen concert from 1975 this weekend
as well. I switched to the Dave Matthews on VH1 storytellers when the fundraisers showed up. ;)

3. I caught it the other day and enjoyed it
I always loved his music and I admired his stand on the environment.

It made me want to go rent Oh God one more time!

to buy up the local PBS (koce) in San Bernardino so the network has to have a continuious fund raiser going on to try and beat them off. :-(
