I weep for the United States
I weep for a country where a majority of the Congress has no qualms about impeaching a president because he lied about having a sexual affair, but where hardly anybody in Congress displays any interest in even censuring a president for violating a federal civil liberties law and the US Constitution.

That's so fucked up. Sometimes I just hate those bastards. Both parties. Hate the mess out of them.

2. It is simply CRAZY!
Half the country is insane or on Prozac or something.

3. Fucked up...
is a very good description of what this country is right now. Perhaps irretrievably.

4. That's why you vote the indolent out.
And come November 2006, I don't give a frig who, I'm voting for the one who ain't the incumbent.

Assuming I choose to vote; to say I am 'confused' right now is an understatement.

5. As do I, tgnyc
I look around at the things going on here, and at what we have wrought in the Middle East, and I can't even wrap my mind around it. And sometimes I feel so helpless to do anything about it. Not saying I'm giving up the fight; I'm not. It just that some days, it doesn't seem to make any difference. (But I am hopeful that one day, it will.)

8. That's the phrase I was looking for:
"can't wrap my mind around it."

6. we are out in
no-man's land now...uncharted territory...

A malaise, a sense of dread, a despondency grows as more and more we see what is really going on.
