I'm sorry folks, but a true opposition Dem Party is DEAD.
If Democratic Senators can't muster up the balls to support THE RULE OF LAW and censure King Chimp, then the writing is on the walls --- those Dems who do not support Feingold's efforts are MORAL COWARDS.

Traditionally, mid-term elections are low turnout events that rely upon a charged up grassroots and base. Not supporting Feingold's attempt to hold our President accountable for his actions IS NOT the way to get the base out to vote in 2006. If Feingold's effort goes down because of cowardice, I will NOT be voting during the mid-terms. PERIOD.

Fuck it. I'd rather not vote, then to vote for individuals who cannot stand up for our Constitution. At least with the Repukes, they are steadfast and consistent (morally bankrupt, but consistent).

Sorry to rant, but I am SO DISAPPOINTED IN THE LACK OF LEADERSHIP AND SOLIDARITY.

2. Lather, rinse, repeat
This would be the 23,998,312,073rd time I've seen this type of thread.

Did Feingold line up support beforehand?

Is he defending his seat in '06?

If you refuse to vote in the midterms, you are a God damned fool and a useless blight on the body politic.

Or is that too stiff a statement?

11. It's called "principles," maybe you should look into them...
Our country's forefathers spilled their blood and treasure to establish a Constitutional democracy and King Chimp is singlehandly dismantling the checks and balances established over 200 years ago. If the Dems stand on the sidelines and do not honor our forefathers' sacrifice by fighting for what's right, then you need to ask yourself...

What do you believe in? Why do you continue to support those who do not uphold CORE principles of our democracy?? Are you a sheep or asleep??

I'm not alone in these feelings. Simply dismissing individuals such as myself does nothing to get our support in 2006.

13. Will... Are You Spending Too Much Time In The 'Real World' Of D.C. ???
"Did Feingold line up support beforehand?"

So... he should have talked to 40+ comfortably ensconsed brothers and sisters of the House of Lords, and when he could find no takers, he should have kept his mouth shut???

Maybe he didn't care to listen to 40+ versions of pathetic excuse making. Maybe he was damn well aware of the agenda of this fellow travelers. I know that possibility makes ME wanna wretch.

4. At least with the Democrats, there's the chance they'd be different
if they were in power. With the Republicans, you're guaranteed more of the same.

I'm not that pessimistic personally, but it's one thing to think about while you're at home on election day.

6. I tend to agree with you but their is the tantalizing thought of
Rep. Conyers as head of the Judiciary Committee again WITH SUBPEONA power and you can be sure he would use it if the Dems become the majority party again in 2007. Go to Conyers site and read what he has to say about disappointment with the Dems and what he plans to do when he has the Majority position of Chairman again.

7. How are they different if they FAIL TO SUPPORT OUR CONSTITUTION???
I'm starting to see little difference...lots of talk that suggests difference, but NO REAL ACTION to support those difference claims.

10. I said "if they were in power"
Right now we're not, so we're going to act differently. If we could lord it over the Republicans instead of the other way around, things might be different. That's all I'm saying. By not voting, you're increasing our chances of not finding out. Take that for what you will.

Personally, I don't see why Dems in tight races in moderate states with their seats up this year would support censure now, but that's just me.

8. And yet, you'll keep voting Democrat, won't you?
Sure ain't gonna vote Republican, and third party is a "losing cause," or so I'm told.

They got ya right where they want ya ... So, you're "disappointed." So what! Bend over and take it like a loyal Democrat. They're counting you, Noodley. You mustn't disappoint *them* ...

I really think someone who's very prominent progressive should announce early that he/she's going to run for 2008 UNLESS the Dems do the right thing and rally around a TRUE progressive like Russ Feingold. If they try to do the DLC thing again, it's time for the progressives to move to someone with the Greens! Damn the torpedoes...! They can either START representing true Democrat constituents and not their "corporate" constituents, or another party should do it and throw them out! The DLC must DIE!
