"if you don't like tuna or milk they would be really bad things to store!"
And this is from KCBI NEWS yet!

====

"Powdered milk and a can of tuna under my bed," a woman on the Grove told KBCI Local 2 News. "And what will that do?"

"Under my bed?" a man wondered. "I don't have it in my bed but I have it in my cupboard."

No one we spoke to in downtown Boise seemed to be doing anything should an outbreak occur.

"Am I prepared for the bird flu?" a man on Main Street asked. "I don't think anyone's prepared for the bird flu. I don't even know what the bird flu is."

"I'm not prepared, no," a woman on Main Street said. "I know there's evidence that it's definitely coming this way, but I'm not prepared in any way. I'm not going to stockpile food or anything."...

Barlow-Brusee said canned tuna and powdered milk do not have to be part of your survival plans.

"If you don't like tuna and you really dislike powdered milk, those would be really bad things for you to store," Barlow-Brusee said. "You're not going to like them and you're not going to eat them."

2. Sorry, you're out of luck. It has to be UNDER THE BED!!!!!!
Like the bogeyman.

Personally, I think there is more to this flu threat than a lot of people seem to think, but as we learned from Katrina, if it DOES hit we are on our own.

6. I guess I am
I am already sick AND I was bitten by a spider last night... no doctors or medicine for me either. I guess have to survive it on my own. Meanwhile, I can entertain myself here for a while or go back to killing big cockroaches, which are everywhere in my house, among a lot of other vermin.

4. I really question WHO is thinking this shit up?
First it was plastic and duct tape...EVERYBODY laughed at that one!

Then it was color coded alerts. They laughed at that too!

Now it's tuna and powdered milk????

This sounds like what the southerners do when the weather guy says there could be snow flurries! Buy all the bread, milk and toilet paper in the damn store, because you could be stranded for WEEKS!

What is wrong with these people???????

8. this deserves it's own cartoon.
a before and after picture about republicans saving us from fear. before: big thought bubble filled with 'fear of chemical and biological attack!' while holding visquene and duct tape. after: big thought bubble filled with 'fear of bird flu!' while holding tuna and powdered milk. probably make it a 4 panel with a sane democrat donkey in the background saying the solution under each fear. before: inspections. after: vaccines. if only i could draw....

10. They are fucking this up
like they do everything else. People need to prepare and won't cause these talking heads have no idea how to do anything right. If things go bad a lot of people will suffer because of their incompetence.

11. Other governments stockpiled Tamiflu...
Early. As usual the chimperor is late to the party so he recommends milk and tuna.
