I'm a bit freaked out by what I see on my TV screen..

Okay, let me explain.. Another DU'er gave a heads up that Montel was doing a hard hitting story on the * administration, and said that Lou Dobbs would be on as a guest.. I got excited about it, and set it up to record, and I got off the puter to watch it..I noticed that I wasn't seeing the described show, and I went back to check the thread. Everyone on the thread that responded to the heads up
said they saw Lou Dobbs on TV talking to Montel, so I know that they can see it.. They were posting about how great it was, but I'm seeing a completely different show..

I was watching the Montel Show, and it isn't showing Dobbs or bad mouthing the administration.. This show title is "Left for Dead." It's about a women that was raped.. It's Montel, but it's a completely different show that has nothing to do with the administration or Dobbs.. Isn't it odd that they are running a completely different show? Why are they playing a different show here, and why can't I see the show that everyone else can? Are they censoring in my area? Why would they choose not to run that show here? WTF is going on? Is this some kind of new way to censor? I'm a bit freaked out by this.

The above link is to the heads up about the show, and all the people see it but me.. They are seeing a completely different show than I am.. It's Montel, but it's a completely different subject.. Isn't that strange? I'm really getting freaked out, why are the censoring the show in my area?

on edit- This show is a repeat from Jan. 10th.. Dicksteele looked it up.. Why is everyone else seeing a new show, while my area is watching a repeat? This smacks of censorship..

So you have no guarantees that they'll show the same show at the same time everywhere.

Looks like the "Attacked and Left for Dead" is a rerun
from January 10th.
Make of that what you will.
Perhaps a polite call to your local station is in order?

When I was a kid my grandma came up to visit from out of state for a few days. She was really into soap operas but when she sat down to watch them at our house she was upset because the episodes that were new to us were a day or so old to her.

It happens. Just check tomorrow if you can. It might be on then. Or just call your local station and ask when that episode is scheduled to air. :)

I don't watch him all the time, but I think I'm correct. Sylvia Browne is always his guest on Wednesdays. I like Montel, and I believe his military career was stellar.

It's a rotten shame he contracted MS. I wonder what poor people do when their prescriptions are that high. Gee, what am I saying. I'm poor with a lot of expensive prescriptions. So, the answer is, we do without.

Yes, I know he's getting paid to promote a prescription plan and some write him off simply on that basis. Hubby says my tendency to try and find the good in people is my best asset and worst enemy...and maybe it will make me wrong about Montel, too. But until I see evidence to the contrary, I'm going with the idea that he's is doing it because he believes it is doing a good thing/the right thing for others. Is he making some money from it? Yes. Is he making money from it to profit at the expense of those less fortunate? Haven't seen anything to show that's the case.

He closed the show saying his medication costs him $2700 per month! :wow: And he pays that out of his own pocket even with one of the best healthcare plans.

I didn't realize that when he was in the service that he spent 12 years at the NSA with the "highest levels of clearance", too.

First, let me say that we don't have cable and only get about 6 or 7 channels-abc, nbc, cbs, pbs, fox and one, maybe two others-probably local type stations. Yeah, it's slim pickins, but it works for us for now. And as an example Oprah & Dr. Phil are shown in the afternoon on cbs and again at night on one of the other channels.
