Anyone know anything about namebase.org
I was trying to find some backround on Eric Roach who is running for Duke Cunningham's seat. He is a millionaire from Rancho Santa Fe, who got his start at Morgan Stanley. Anyway while googling I found this site. I somehow remember someone mentioning it a while back. It costs 50$ to join but shows you connections between people. I don't want to spend 50$. Maybe someone here is a member.

5. Last I looked, it was sort of dated...
It was a valuable resource in the 1980s.
But, by the mid 1990s, its interface was clumsy,
and their wasn't much in the way of supporting
material - just the database itself, with no way
to judge how up to date it was.

I don't know if charging a fee is a new thing,
but I seem to recall poking around on it for free
back in the 1990s.

Maybe they revived it.

6. I had been buying his programs for many years.
Edited on Tue Mar-14-06 03:44 PM by pnorman
Originally it was a computer program (w/updates), and I had it running in my old C/PM machine. He then went to DOS, and then Windows. Finally, it became web-based. I had it running in my old HP-200 handheld, and used to amaze people with it! With Google, I probably don't really need it any more, but for old times sake, I may resubscribe.

The author is sometimes idiosyncratic (iconoclastic?), but rigidly honest in his convictions. Here's his wiki reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Brandt
