Lou Dobbs bashing Bush on "Montel" today...excellent show!
Edited on Tue Mar-14-06 06:14 PM by Blue_Roses
I don't usually watch Montel, but was flipping channels and saw Lou Dobbs on so I paused to watch. It was a great show! They addressed everything from Katrina, warrentless wiretapping, healthcare, out-sourcing, and the port deal. Lou Dobbs said this administration is "arrogant" and when he heard Bush address this country as "my government" he said that this is alarming and it's time for "we the people" to LISTEN and take action to what is happening in our country before it's too late!

Montel said he would dedicate many shows to this issue from now on and for the next 2 years he's going to watch and report on this administration like a hawk.

:applause:

2. Montel's one of the decent ones, IMO...
I've thought so for a long time.

Not that I watch any of it, but in the past I've seen how much he's willing to invest of his own time and energy to help people who needed it.

They don't want anyone like Montel talking about the Bush.

MS symptoms. He is big on healthcare issues.

I think he's a former Army Spook.

42. Naval Intelligence
He was the second guy with the key on a nuclear sub for years. The gov't trusted him then. They can't exactly say much about him now.

He actually got arrested for pot in an airport. He said he didn't care and wasn't going to stop.

He has nearly the exact same form of MS as i do. Almost identical symptom set. I consider him brethren in pain.

43. We worked with them some back in my old
Army Security Agency days. One of my army buddies was to be transferred to the USS Liberty, but his orders got held up. If that hadn't happened he might have been in the radio room when that Israeli torpedo hit, or on one of the lifeboats they sunk. Yeah, I'm still pissed.

I have a friend with MS. He keeps losing his eyesight and partial use of his right side. I gave him a trackball mouse because he was having trouble with regular mice. When he's suffering an attack we communicate with iChat instead of e-mail. Even with MS and severe Colitis, he's still able to attract the babes.

45. He seems to be doing OK. He's not looking forward to summer
because of the lack of air conditioning in Poland. He has his rough moments, but usually he's upbeat. He has a good family support system and, unlike here, inexpensive healthcare.

it was EXCELLENT !!! Lou Dobbs and Montel gave no ground on issues of this 'arrogant' administration, wiretapping, healthcare.

i am going to email each of them to thank them!!

this is the type of show that will reach many people who haven't been paying attention or who have been indifferent.

Looks like every Tuesday will be called " America Speaks Out" on his show:

i'll be tuning in!

often if he dedicates more of his shows to these issues. This is stuff Oprah used to do but now backs away from. I watch Montel on Wednesdays when he has Sylvia Browne on but the rest of the week seems to be dedicated to weeping woman of the hour and I feel sorry for them, but feel they need to address their problems in a different way than on national TV.

I think Montel can do better too. I too will write him to encourage him in this. Montel hasn't aired in my area yet, but will be on in fifteen minutes so I will tune in. Also, Randi Rhodes said that she is going to be a guest on Lou Dobbs next Tuesday.

I will be checking on Tuesdays. It's good if daytime TV starts doing these shows.

Thanks

32. Ah, that's what brought the tears.
He's got a foundation or a charity or is hawking a charity that helps people with their prescription drug costs. I've seen some commercials for it, without really paying all that much attention to it.

You all do know, don't you, that he has Multiple Sclerosis? Diagnosed a few years ago and he's apparently doing really, really well with it so far. But then, he can afford whatever drugs there are. Not everyone is so lucky. He's compassionate and decent enough to KNOW that. He's a real decent guy, actually. I like him quite a bit.

35. Funny (and odd) Montel tidbit from 2004
A friend of mine's wife watches Montel regularly. My friend was at home when Montel had a psychic named Sylvia Brown on his show. This was when Dean was on the cover of Newsweek as the presumed Democratic nominee. My friend said that a woman in the audience stood up and asked the psychic if Dean would become President. Brown answered without hesitation "no, because he won't be the nominee; Kerry will". The audience member then asked if Kerry would win the presidency. Brown looked disgusted and said "Bush will have a second term-but he won't have it as easy as he's had it this time around. Eventually his own party will turn against him and he will fail at pushing much of his agenda through".(My friend said that it was obvious that Brown despises Bush) They then went on to other topics. Of course, I told my friend that I thought that psychics were nothing but con artists-but I have to admit, that one was fairly accurate so far.
