Is the Russ Feingold move to Censure the Pres. effectively dead?

On Lou Dobbs tonight, it was said that the Feingold bill to Censure has been refereed to the Judicial Committee and will most likely die of a slow death.

This seems to be tactic used by Senators to get rid of bills that they don't want to vote on.

One of the main Democrats who is on the Judiciary committee is Democratic Senator Dick Durbin of Illinois. Durbin suggested, on the floor of the Senate, that they may need to send the censure motion to the Judiciary Committee for further consideration right after Feingold offered the motion.

Sphincter, er, Specter, chair of the Judiciary Committee, refused to put Gonzales under oath when the domestic spying first was unearthed. Don't expect anything resembling truth or an investigation from him!

5. The vote itself is not important--DISCUSSION of the vote is what matters

We know we do not have the votes to prevail, at least not now. But if we can keep this issue floating along, we can keep bringing it up. Actually, it benefits us to NOT have a vote on it right now. We want to talk about censure from now until the 06 elections.

We need to keep asking about the bill, what sort of progress the committee has made, and keep demanding discussion of it. And we need to get those GOP Senators running for reelection on the record as opposing the bill, and then use their words against them at the right time. Anyone with GOP senators up for reelection, send them a very polite, thoughtful letter, telling them you are upset that the Monkeyking has sold our security to the highest bidder, urging them to censure him, and asking them to let you know how they would vote on the censure question. You might get back a reply you can use!

The more people hear the words BUSH and CENSURE together, the more it will sound like PRETZELS and BEER--two things that GO TOGETHER...we just need to keep that discussion front and center.

not enough Dems in the Senate even if they all voted for it to pass. It's mainly a symbolic gesture by Feingold.
