Yesterday, in an interview for Fox News Radio, you accused Senator Russ Feingold (D - WI) of "(siding) with terrorists" by introducing a resolution to censure George Bush.

Senator Feingold's censure resolution seeks to hold the President accountable for authorizing a domestic spying program that clearly violates federal law and for misleading the country about its existence and its legality.

To question Senator Feingold's patriotism and suggest that he is "siding with terrorists" by seeking to hold President Bush accountable for violating federal law is despicable. And we call on you to apologize publicly.

Essentially, I told him that his reaction is very typical of the Republicans when they don't like someone questioning them or Bush -- they don't address the issue that someone brings up; they instead insult people, call them names, and attack them.

I also told him that because he is so ensconced in the Beltway mentality, he may not be aware of the fact that the majority of Americans of all political stripes don't like the idea of being wiretapped and spied on, particularly when that wiretapping is illegal, and we want Bush held accountable too. So, when he calls Senator Feingold a traitor, he (Allard) is essentially calling the majority of Americans traitors also.

Given your remarks about Senator Feingold's actions yesterday, it is more than apparent where you, and your Republican colleagues, stand.

You are being urged to apologize to a man who is willing to stand up for the law and confront the man who, by his own admission, has broken that law.

I doubt that an apology will be forthcoming, from you or from anyone in your party. Acknowledging an inappropriate remark and showing remorse for having made it is the sign of a gentleman.

listening to a local Radio Station here the talk show host, Dan Caplas (sp) supports Allard..(not surprised here) most of the calls are for Russ Feingold. Caplas has been saying that what Feingold is doing is aiding the enemy, basically the GOP talking point. You disagree with this administration you are a traitor/ terrorist. Disgusting.
