Dear Senator. I am completely disappointed in the Democrat response to our President. As a leader of the Democratic caucus in D.C. I find it unconscionable that you, and your colleagues are not responding forcefully against this illegally selected president, his illegally drawn war, and his unconstitutional behavior regarding domestic surveillance of American citizens. The ACLU now has information indicating that the government is illegally spying on anti-war groups (which is one of the reasons the Administration refused to get FISA blessings in their warrantless searches). I am convinced in my heart that they also have been spying on Democrats, on Democratic strategy during the 2002/2004 elections, and so on. This president has broken the law and is not being held accountable. The American people are far and away out in front of you and the beltway Democrats regarding this crooked administration. If the roles were reversed, you'd see how fast the Republicans would have attacked Gore, or Kerry, in similar circmustances. Is that that they have more backbone? Because that is the appearance and that is why they win elections when "backbone" is an issue. You and your Democratic colleagues must stand up to this regime now - show some courage, show some anger, protect this country we all love which is being torn into some neo-fascistic, gestapo controlled, quasi-democracy. We already have no faith in the ballot-machines that may have been tampered with to give the GOP winning results. If you don't show some hard-fisted action against these gangsters you can forget having the support of people who counted on you, when we need you most.
I C Rapoport
