The company I work for has just contracted with a health survey company. The scam is that the health survey company questions employees as to their personal medical information in a effort to "reduce health care costs" overall. The health survey company will then "coach" the employee into a healthier lifestyle. There are several problems with this. If you check out the "privacy" policy it essentially states that the company will give your personal medical information gladly to Agent Undershaft if he flashes his homeboy security badge. That and other disclaimers essentially state that if the health survey company "feels like it" your information is up for grabs. The bottom line here is that if you really value your information security the best advantage you personally could have is that it is in and resides in as FEW COMPUTER DATABASES as possible. So, please tell these people to go pound sand when they ask for YOUR medical info. Tell them you think data mining sucks and bluntly point out why. Then, hey the Census is coming....Fuck that. Ya, I am me, now get the fuck otta here.
