I'm curious: Can Stephen Hadley be impeached?

He took responsibility for the 16-word lie in Idiot Son's State of the Union Speech, saying that CIA Director George Tenet had warned him the "intelligence" was suspect.

He said he should have made sure it was deleted from the SOTU speech.

But here's the real kicker....

AFTER the SOTU speech, Hadley continued to make the false claims about Iraq's desire to acquire enriched uranium.

In a February 2003 op/ed in the Chicago Tribute, Hadley wrote:

"According to British intelligence, the regime has tried to acquire natural uranium from abroad. It is also trying to import and develop specialized magnets, high-speed balancing machines and other hardware needed to build the centrifuges that can produce enriched uranium. Through front companies, Iraq has tried recently to import high-strength aluminum tubes with tolerances suitable for centrifuges -- and that far exceed the requirements for conventional weapons."

Why did Hadley say the 16 word lie should have been removed, but yet continued to make that very assertion after the speech?

IIRC the wording in the Constitution.

2. Thanks. I was wondering about his role as a Presidential "adviser."

His official title is "Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs" (commonly known as National Security Adviser).

And National Security Advisers are not subject to the confirmation process. And since he was not subject to the confirmation process, I was wondering if he was a "covered" person as far as impeachment.
