We can work toward the 2006 election and the 2008 biggie, too. Indeed, there ought to be some degree of coordination between the two, so that our efforts in 2006 have a ripple effect on the 2008 election.

Why are there so many people at DU who can't give others credit for the mental capacity to simultaneously consider complex ideas--and promoting our party in 2006 so that we see a pay-off in 2008 is something we should have been crafting yesterday.

I post on DU as a diversion, and to get the latest political news and info that just isn't anywhere else. Most people here are active politically, but not by posting in GD, which really IS the place for fuming about the most recent stuff.

I just think it's pointless to tell people how to use the GD. It doesn't work, you can't make them do what you want by yelling or making them feel guilty about talking about the latest news. That's what this forum has become, and it's not going to change.

We cannot buy into all the hype of the coming Democratic Congress and we have to fight as if we're 20 points behind right up until election day. Diebold might steal it yet again but we should not lose because of lack of effort and complacency.
