NOT TRUE!

Censure will not pass unless some Republicans vote for it. Now is the perfect time to approach Republican Senators, particularly the ones up for re-election in November.

Call the office. Find out if the Senator is soft on crime or will perform his constitutional duty as a legislator in a three branch government. Get as many people in your state to call as you can reach.

I know it feels like tilting at windmills but sometimes you have to pick up the lance and try. The GOP is vulnerable right now and politicians are always concerned with what their constituents think. I'd be willing to bet they are not going to be flooded with calls asking them NOT to vote for censure.

Even if you have a Senator so far up Bush's back side he can see out of the man's bleary eyeballs, call!

14. I get form letters... but I still like making my voice heard.
If they only ever intend to ignore me, that's fine... but I have to do what I can... I have to let them know we're out here and we actually care.

15. I called both their sorry butts
The way I see it is, if we Texas Dems don't hold them accountable for each and every action, then we're never going to get our state back.

Even if we're little more than a mosquito buzzing their head, enough mosquitoes will eventually get their attention.

Said if we can impeach a president for lying about a blowjob, we should at least censure this one for lying to congress, lying to the american people, breaking the law by violating FISA, etc.

6. This Is About Putting Them on Record
I doubt a censure motion will pass under this current corrupt Repugnican Senate. And Sen. Feingold has stated he didn't expect it to pass...but to accomplish other means. He's taking a page from the GOOP playbook...framing issues and then forcing the GOOP to go on the record about it.

Let's find out what Lincoln Chaffee feels about illegal wiretapping...if he doesn't support Feingold's proposal, it's pretty obvious he's a GOOP toady. Or how about Gordon Smith? Does he condone this activity? Will the people of Oregon think differently of him if he has to go on the record saying he supports this instrusive and illegal activity?

This is very cut and dried. It takes the facts and puts it to a straight-up vote. The game here will be to tar each and every Repugnican to the illegal, criminal and corrupt nature of this regime...all its negatives, and this is a very smart way to do it.

Yes, it sucks that Democrats aren't lining up behind this...and I expected the corporate media to trash Sen. Feingold (I'm sure he expected it as well), but I suspect he won't be letting up on this motion and we'll see it brought up again and again. Different crimes will require different censures...and each time the demand for a vote and Democrats lining up behind it will increase. Look at this as an opening salvo in the 2006 Democratic campaign...and look at it in the bigger picture as to where things are headed in three and six months.

Cheers...

11. Exactly. I want them to recognize the position they are in.
If they do not support Censure they need to be asked why they support criminal and/or unconstitutional behavior. They must face the question.

12. Graham, Specter and Brownback
forget McCain, he's a hack, but the other three are worth pressuring, especially Brownback who might run for president...

http://thinkprogress.org/2006/01/23/both-parties/

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC): “The FISA Act was–created a court set up by the chief justice of the United States to allow a rapid response to requests for surveillance activity in the war on terror. I don’t know of any legal basis to go around that.”

Sen. Arlen Specter (R-PA): “”There is no doubt that this is inappropriate.”

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ): “WALLACE: But you do not believe that currently he has the legal authority to engage in these warrant-less wiretaps. MCCAIN: You know, I don’t think so…”

Sen. Sam Brownback (R-KS): “I am troubled by what the basis for the grounds that the administration says that they did these on, the legal basis…”

18. Well, I have.
For all the good it will do. I've contacted those assholes about a number of issues and the results are consistant: noncommital comments from the staffer followed by a form letter promoting the position exactly opposite of mine. Insulting and a waste of trees.

Don't know which is worse, Demented is so far up bu$h's ass he can touch his teeth or Graham the poser who occasionally makes big talk but always takes the party line.
