New 50 state Bush approval poll just released (champagne anyone?).
The national weighted average is 36%. Bush lost a lot of ground in the red states.

To sum it up:

The high for Bush is 55% in Utah (Sieg Heil!)
The low for Bush is a tie between New Jersey and Massachusetts at 26%
Texas comes in at 41% approval.
Bush is below 50% in 10 out of 11 southern states, and below 40% in 5 southern states.

So, as Gray Davis got down to ~30% before he was ousted (dunno the exact figure, but it was low)... how about Bush?

10. I've lived in Texas for 8 years
And I live in the island community of Travis County (56%-42% for Kerry in 2004). It's like living in Hong Kong when the city was not under Chinese control, or living in West Berlin during the cold war, or Switzerland when the Nazis controlled most of Europe.

51. The western stakes is a whole 'nother reality.
I enjoyed and respected the neighborly LDS community in western New York (Rochester, near Palmyra) and found the stand-offish, self-elevating attitudes of LDSers in eastern Washington to be very abrasive indeed. As a person with a deep, non-sectarian faith, I was keenly disappointed with the very insular attitudes.

Personally, I think he cheated in Texas too. My husband and I voted two weeks early and we stood in line for about an hour. Those people in line weren't there to vote for Pinhead** that early in the game, what with Texas guaranteed too go to Pinhead**. I think Bexar county went 67% for him, yeah right! :eyes:

44. Not much fun for Michigan Republicans
Edited on Wed Mar-15-06 06:07 PM by ih8thegop
Mr. Popularity is having a rough go of it in Michigan. In addition to a 33% approval rating nationally, SurveyUSA reports that Dubya is down to 30% in the Great Lakes State.

Specifically, Bush - who lost Michigan in both 2000 and 2004 - is supported by:

* One in four people ages 18-24;
* One in three whites;
* Barely a majority of conservatives;
* Less than two in five people who regularly attend church;
* Less than half of 'pro-lifers';
* About one in three people in the Grand Rapids area, gubernatorial candidate and Outsourcer-in-Chief Dick DeVos's back yard.

Couple that with Legislative Republicans' election-year flip-flop on the minimum wage in the face of 74% opposition, and its gonna be hard for DeVos to buy his way into the governorship.

EVERY FUCKING ONE of your states is below 50.

In fact, you have to go to state #5, and Ben Nelson, to find a Dem. Senator. After that you hit Montana (Max Baucus) and North Dakota (Dorgan and Conrad) at number 9!!!!

Among the states Kerry won, so-called blue states, Bush is MOST POPULAR IN FEINGOLD'S HOME STATE. NOTHING TO LOSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, Dems. SCREAM.

Fucking spineless. Sick of it.
