6. I don't think it will work again. Now Dana did say something else!
He said all these numbers all indicate a lame duck President, but you never know what the future holds. Another attack on the US and he's back up there at the top.

That scares the shit out of me, because I happen to think it's true!

I think if he decided to start another war in Iran, they'd think he was insane!

3. Insane!!! That would be my choice. Buchanan is an old-time conservative.
Why would he push invading Iran? He didn't support invading Iraq.

Heard the last part about a "blitzkrieg attack" that would put Bush bck on top, and the timing related to the election.

I thought I heard it wrong. Guess not.... :scared:

9. The sheep, his base,
are drooling over a war with Iran. Whether the rest of the country will bite is another matter. Especially, with Iran vowing to cut oil supplies and people looking at $5/gallon gas.

positive while New Orleans drowned. I guess he was busy at the time though. Hopefully the next crisis will come when the chimp has some free time.

28. personally, I don't think anything to do with war is going to help
bush. If we get attacked in the US, then all of that money, and lifes are a waste. If we attack Iran prices will go thru the roof, and cost even more in lives. The american people will not go for another war, period.

11. With what resources??!!?!?
Do people just assume soldiers will magically fall from the trees, fully trained and armored? Do they assume Iran doesn't have a military of their own...actual soldiers who are trained to shoot back? Pundits talk about a war with Iran as if the Afghanistan AND Iraq wars are behind us. Can no one see the big picture? Does the tv camera suddenly zap a person from thinking in the long term?

The projections for the Iraqi war are already at the one trillion dollar mark. The political downfall of hitting Iran is the very least of our worries. This is insane.

17. Like "Shock and Awe"? How well did that work for us last time?
Not too well as I recall. You can't win a war with just air strikes unless you're prepared to completely obliterate the entire country...something I hope the international community will not stand for.

that most of the public thought we had won decisively.

12. What an obscene discussion!
To make basically a joke out of INVADING A COUNTRY! To have a discussion that an invasion of a country could be used to win an election shows how low the political discussion has sunk under rovian rules of order. I wonder when or even if we'll ever pull out of this freefall into orwellian truth. They have figured out a way to get enough votes to win (one way or the other) and it seems difficult to overcome.

Still, I have hope that the falling poll numbers signal that some people are coming to their senses and will vote to bring some checks and balances back to our country in November. But, apparently, another war might be used to continue the politics of fear and repression. Not my image of America but it is the reality in which we live.

14. I urge DUers to read
two articles in the March 2006 edition of "Washington Report on Middle East Affairs." This magazine is published by retired US foreign service officers to provide US citizens with a balanced view of current affairs in that part of the world.

The two articles are combined in a special "War on Iran?" section. The first is "Iran's Nuclear Status Should Not be Viewed in Isolation," by Linda Heard. The second, which I found more interesting, is "Let's Stop a U.S./Israeli War on Iran," by Bill and Kathleen Christson. Bill was a senior national intelligence officer with the CIA, and directed the Agency's Office of Regional and Political Analysis. Kathleen has 30 years experience in the Middle East with the Agency.

Those interested in more information, including on the Plame and neocon/AIPAC scandals, should visit their web site: http://www.wrmea.com

This month's edition also has articles by Ray McGovern on the NSA domestic spying scandal, and Juan Cole on lobbyist Jack Abramoff.

26. Thanks. I'll add to my resource center. I appreciate the pressure,....
,...against PNAC,...but,...seriously, :( the corporate-controlled propaganda is STILL handing over, by cooperation or silence, this next war for "political capital".

It's imminent. We are on the brink with not nearly enough courageous warriors to fence the cliff.

I'm so damned scared. I've never been so scared. x(

31. There are those
in the administration who are advocating strikes on Iran. It is something people need to take seriously. Questions like, "With what soldiers?" are rational, but miss the point that aggressive war is by definition irrational.

I again quote from "Mr. Galloway Goes to Washington":

"In that he was little different to the leaders of most regimes; regime survival is the ultimate priority of most systems -- we just don't know it in our own countries yet."

People do irrational things when feeling pressured to survive.

19. I saw that. My question is, though, who the hell would fight it?
The military is already stretched way too thin. Iraq is a revolving door, with re-deployment after re-deployment. The majority are now against the war in Iraq (and let us not forget Afghanistan). I don't see many people being behind going into Iran.

20. If We Are Attacked Again
I believe the finger will be pointed at them for not making us "secure", especially if the point of entry is a port or a border. Secondly, we can't afford another "war", and I believe our increasingly war weary, borrowed money flowing out the treasury like water, country may surprise these brilliant pundits who all predicted a great win after they all swallowed the big lie. (with the exception of Buchanan who wasn't for it, and while Tweets wasn't exactly in favor it he has remained steadfast in his admiration for B***).

23. I watched a few minutes of the Tweetster and Buchanan acting like
paid consultants for the Dems - telling them how to maneuver and what their strong points were - (Whatever you do, don't throw me in the briar patch . . . ) Tweety very amusing, as that he has just discovered that Bush is PERSONALLY quite unpopular!I guess no one but Tweety sees his "sunny nobility" or his "Atticus Finch" qualities. Tweety is fully revealed as the nitwit that he is and has always been.

32. what is really really callously sick
is for TV pundits to discuss this as a political opportunity--Goddddesssss, I'm so so tired of a bunch of sociopaths using death and destruction as a political tool--the misery, the horror--all for a political tool. If the American people keep falling for such obscene, corrupt actions then we are the fools. If another attack happens to my country, I know exactly whom to blame--I won't be rallying around ole George!!!!!
