Gore and Feingold break away from mainstream Dems

to form a Democratic Party that actually counts for something. I think that between the two of them we could actually see some real fireworks during the primaries and elections. I bet everybody on this board would work their asses off to get these two in office and I bet that THESE TWO would work their asses off to get in office AND to get the messages out to the American people.

2. If Gore sought the Dem nomination in '08 I would support him

without reserve. I'm not sure what you mean by "break away" from mainstream Dems, because neither Gore nor Feingold would ever leave the Democratic party--they would work on the inside to improve it and are doing so.

6. Why not? Feingold is speaking out against the Democrats as we speak and

Gore got so badly burned by them in 2000, that I see them "shrewdly" going really left of all of the mainstream Democrats and basically detaching from the mainstream of the party and reaching out to the vast number of people that feel that there is no representation by thier party at this time. I see it. Too bad you can't.

they are working on the inside to improve the party. They realize that they wouldn't get anywhere without a party behind them. It was said that Dean was going to leave the Democratic party in 2004 and he ended up as our chairman.

The Democratic Party has been silenced for the past five years. Gore and Feingold have given us back our voice. If the other Dems don't follow their lead, then I say "get out of our way". This is when I miss Paul Wellstone so much. He was the "Conscience of the Liberals".

If they were, the party wouldn't be shut out of all 3 branches of government.

History will view their efforts to drag the party to the right to become a pallid imitation of the GOP as one of the most stunning miscalculations in its history. It is a spectacular failure, yet conservatives, being conservative, have yet to admit that to themselves or to us.

The only place these timid conservatives are "mainstream" is within the I-495 beltway around Washington, DC.

That is the real problem.

21. *lol* ~ no, not for a long time ~ I loved Gore's speech last month, he

didn't pull any punches, and Feingold is saying what needs to be said ~ although I do remember when Murtagh first spoke, and when Reid went into a private session and stunned the Republicans ~ that was good, and I thought there would be more of that.

For five years crimes and lies and corruption have gone without challenge or consequence from the leaders ~ you get so sick of watching the votes, with Dems crossing over and voting with Republicans, while it never, ever happens the other way.

I think Feingold will get quite a few Democrats behind him on his censure motion, he already has Tom Harkin, Barbara Boxer and Kerry and that's just for today!! :woohoo:
