2. Beautiful house! Lucky people, the new owners.
I'm guessing you have racked up a lot of memories there. Hope they were good ones. Wherever your next home is, hope it is a happy and peaceful place.

Blessings.

8. New owner came out after closing.
In a S500 Mercedes with two Bu$h/Cheney stickers. I bit my tongue. They are a nice couple. They want to be my friend. When should I drop the hammer?

10. It is in southwestern Transylvania County, NC.
About 9 miles west of Rosman (or 45 miles SW of the Ashville airport). It is on Round Mountain (which we call Dog Mountain)

7. I'm glad you got your check, DT.
After reading your post yesterday, I hope things settle down a bit for you. BTW, I love your new place. It looks kinda like a large English country cottage! Good luck!

13. It is actually a 1905 Prairie Cottage (in the style of Frank Lloyd Wright)
It does have some English cottage traits, but more French country traits (the inward-opening casement windows, for example). Look at all the glass in the front. That is all 1/16" "wavy" glass. That glass acts as a Duto filter for those peering in from the front. I could stand in the kitchen, which is visible from the street through two rooms, butt-naked (nothing to see here folks, move on), and it - I mean my nakedness - would be a dull blur from the street. Not that I walk around the house naked.

16. Another angle on the G-ville house

BTW: One of Dr. D's best friends grew up in this house. Dr. D. spent many a sleep-overs here in the 1960s. Her friend bought it from her parents in about 1991 (for $1.25 million - obviously a family money shift). She allowed her bi-husband to stay there until he died of AIDS in 1992. Another former-owner dropped dead last year. She was about 52, and a former girl-friend of my orthopedic surgeon BIL. That's why I love the south. There is a story in everything! And I am a writer. Manna from heaven. Hainted house?

20. No, that house can't possible be "hainted"! The energy is lovely!
That was one of the first things I felt about it.

Given its long history (this is from someone who has either been the first or second resident in all of her homes), it is bound to have some stories to share! And a southern home to boot? lol!

It does seem that the south does crop up with delicious tales and seemingly to me at least, more colorful than those up here in Yankee territory! Although, being near the ispiration of the legend of Sleepy Hallow and Rip Van Winkle, I can't complain. Everytime we have huge thunderstorms that reverberate to an incredible degree, I always think of Rip, and of the dwarves, playing nine-pins, somewhere up there in the sky.

Once again, the best of luck in your new endeavors!

With lots of light and peace to you!

23. Yeah, that's what I like about the South
Who sang that song? Haint was one of my mother's favorite words. My children think it's quaint. Good luck in beautiful house. My daughter and her love live in Asheville. Haven't been to see them yet. These bones seem to be stuck in So. Louisiana. Almost as if we might blow away if we aren't looking. Very precarious times, these! I love both your houses. How much energy did you leave in that precious, previous home?

17. Thanks, dear. But that is an oxymoron, eh? Happy moving?
Moving is up there with ice-water enemas. But I do appreciate the sentiment. I think I'll live, though, thanks to my DU friends! What a great group!

Thank you all so much!
