8. Actually, Fitz is more powerful than the Attorney General...

He has equal power to the A.G. and he does NOT answer to the President. The only way he can be removed from office is through impeachment or through his own termination of the investigation.

The president can remove him. But Fitzgerald would have to make an error in order for the president to do so. The part about impeachment or self-termination is not correct.

In that article, Citizen Spook explains why Fitzgerald CAN NOT be fired by the President (Bush can try, but GAO would step in).

And ANY INDIVIDUAL that is part of the administration CAN BE impeached. That is true and part of the constitution. Granted, Fitzgerald would likely need to commit a crime, which will not likely happen.

And Fitzgerald HAS PLENARY AUTHORITY, so he has the power to terminate himself.
