and Medicare. He said this in October of 2003, and they are accomplishing their goal very rapidly. I had forgotten this statement, and I guess he can't talk like this right now.

This really worries me. I wish some of our Democrats would speak up and say this again. They have nothing but contempt for FDR's programs and the social contract with our seniors. We all need to worry.

WASHINGTON — Democratic presidential contender Howard Dean accused Republicans on Thursday of running up the federal budget deficit so they can undermine the fiscal underpinnings of Medicare and Social Security.

"I think their principal motivation is to undo the pillars of the New Deal, particularly Medicare and Social Security, by making the budget deficit so big that those programs can't be sustained," he said at a lunch with USA TODAY and the Gannett News Service.



Democratic presidential contender Howard Dean accused Republicans Thursday of running up the federal budget deficit.

They are cutting Medicare payments, raising the monthly costs, hurting seniors by that detestable drug program. Seniors are afraid.

They had a plan to put the country into a deep deficit. They are succeeding. The man who was too outspoken called it just right.

1. I've been saying this for years - they intentionally run up defecits

so they can then come back and say there's a crises, so they can then cut gov't programs that they hate.

Maybe if the Democrats got off their overprivileged asses and decided to stand up to these thieves and gave people an alternative it would be a peaceful one.

I never worried my teacher's pension would be there for me, but under Jeb poor investments were made....cronies were given favors. I think all state workers in Florida should be afraid.

I can only imagine the fear that workers in private companies might feel.

6. I distinctly remember a Wall Street Journal editorial from around

the same time that said pretty much the same thing, only in a laudatory fashion.

They're proud of this rip-off attempt.

The Young Republicans glory in their hatred of these programs. They have been trained for years now to think in terms of if you are rich you deserve it and if you are poor you deserve it.
