For would-be immigrants to the Netherlands, this film is a test of their readiness to participate in the liberal Dutch culture. IF THEY CAN'T STOMACH IT, NO NEED TO APPLY." (emphasis mine).

We could use this in the U.S... but for voter registration.

I suppose they realize that a U.S. citizen who wants to emigrate to The Netherlands is already liberal.

I know my wife and I would BOTH pass the test. (She lived in Germany near the border for six years--still prefers Europe to the U.S.).
