Watch Bush's poll #s, I have a bet on with my Republican brother.
Talked to my Republican brother last night (who was laid off about a month ago, but that's another story). I told him I was interested to see how low Bush's approval ratings would go, and he asked if I would care to put money on it. The upshot is that if Bush's approval rating hits 28% while he's still in office, he has to pay to ship me that sewing table of my grandmother's that's still in his apartment even though it's supposed to be mine, with a $20.00 in the drawer. If Bush leaves office without going below 29%, I send him $40.00.

He said, "You'll have to watch the polls, because if it happens but you don't report it, you lose." I said, "Believe me, if Bush breaks 30, I'll hear about it."

Let's hope he gives another speech real soon,

3. He'll be OK.
The job he got laid off from paid extremely well. He'll be all right for another couple of years and he'll have found another job by then.

4. You have a shot at it, but Bush** is scraping bottom now, with his base of
holier-than-thou, intolerant, flat earth believing, hate filled Sunday morning "Christians".

5. A republican sibling...
Why did I just think of the play "The Bad Seed" (which, granted, had nothing to do with siblings).

6. You're not far from winning this one. Yesterday
I think it was the PEW poll that had Shrub at 33%, and there's still 2+ years to go!

8. Yeah, And He'll Screw Something Else Up, Too!
The dissatisfaction isn't going away, and he'll do something else stupid that will alienate even more people.

7. I wouldn't take that bet.
There are enough fanatics in this country right now that Bush would have to eat a baby AND have group male sex to dip below 30%.

11. Anything could happen.
I mean, Cheney shot a guy in the face. Who knows what Bush will do before his time is up?

9. I Can't Decide Between 24%
and him bottoming out in the teens like Taft has. Right now MSNBC says 26% think the country is going in the right direction.

10. Did you specify which poll?
Is your brother the kind of person who, when you show him the Gallup poll has Bush at 28%, will turn around and say "but Fox has him at 35% this week" ?

12. What? You're betting something that belongs to you plus $20
and your brother is betting $40. Even considering the shipping costs, you didn't make much of a bet. No wonder we liberals get so little respect. Just kidding. Actually, you are getting the better end -- because your bet is pretty sure to win. It's like taking candy from a baby. Good luck!

14. It's family, you make these allowances.
Anyway the guy just got fired. Granted he will still make 5X what I do this year, but still.

Theoretically I am supposed to go out there and get the sewing table myself and the reality is I'll never do it, so this is actually a good deal if I win.

18. Do you have a link for the MSNBC poll?
I'd love to see that in print about the 26% "right direction."
