Republicans Happier than Democrats
Overall happiness among U.S. residents has not changed much over the years, according to the latest survey by the Pew Research Center that finds 34 percent of adults are very happy.

Among 3,014 telephone respondents, half reported being pretty happy, and 15 percent said they are not too happy.

The survey, released this week, points out several disparities based on lifestyle, beliefs and political persuasion:

Republicans are happier than Democrats.
People who worship frequently are happier than those who don't.
The rich are happier than the poor.
Whites and Hispanics are happier than blacks.
Married people are happier than the unmarried.
Dog owners and cat owners rate the same.
Sunbelt residents are happier than everyone else.

1. Does it take a major statistical research project to figure out that
ignorance is bliss?

is easy. Liberals, however, don't even agree on a definition of the word.

13. This again?
George Will has nothing to write about a few weeks ago so he drags this back out.

This has been a big part of the conservative movement of the last 30 years. They want to portray themselves as happy and joyous--SEE I am rich because I worked so hard I have a beautiful wife I have no regrets about how I got to be so rich Conservatives are NOT just a bunch of grumpy old men come join the party!!!!

They are also told to always always tell people about how happy they are and to always mention how miserable liberals are.

20. So true.
They do the same thing with polls that suggest that women in "traditional" roles are so much happier than those bitter "feminists". It's all a way to try to influence public perception with crappy, sloppy research.

24. I consider myself pretty happy
I'm not happy about the state of the country, but I try not to let it affect me much personally. As far as I can tell most conservatives I know (and that's most of the people I live around right now) are not happier. They're always about to stroke out because of some cockamamee scheme we liberals have come up with. Like forcing Christian children in California to study the Koran or the ACLU trying to take Christmas away.

how is that whole "Teaching the kids the Koran" thing working out. The high priestesses of the Liberalism are really banking on that one.
