US launches largest air assault since the invasion
BAGHDAD, Iraq - The U.S. military said on Thursday it had launched its biggest air offensive in Iraq since the 2003 invasion of the country.

A military statement said the operation involving more than 50 aircraft and 1,500 Iraqi and U.S. troops as well as 200 tactical vehicles targeted suspected insurgents operating in Salahuddin, a province that includes Samarra, a town located 60 miles north of Baghdad.

1. Oh dear me. this is sounding like old times.
Guess my problem is I have lived during Korea, Vietnam and now Iraq.( In grade school we had maps and had to know where they were fighting all the time in WW2.) I think they may be using old plans and hoping for new results. Maybe it is men from Texas and the love of battle or something?

3. I thought
the war was over, was I mistaken. I believed Goerge when he said the mission was accomplished.

4. He was right. The mission was accomplished.
Your only mistake was thinking the mission was the war.

The mission was to create the illusion of a macho military man in the WH by getting his chickenhawk ass photographed in a military setting wearing a flight suit. Done and done!
