did Franken talk about being on the Colbert Report yet?

I just turned his show on now..

1. I didn't thnk it was very good.

And it was proof why Colbert's schtick doesn't always work. Especially with the interviews. He spent so much time doing the O'Reilly routine that Franken didn't really get a chance to talk about anything substantial.

2. Wow, I completely disagree

Isn't out-O'Reilly'ing O'Reilly the whole point of Colbert's show. Franken was playing a role too, the role of a typical talked-over O'Reilly guest. He did a great job!

3. Sure, out-O'Reilly'ing O'Reilly is pretty much the theme.

And during the rest of the show, I think it works brilliantly. But when it comes to his interviews, sometimes I want a little more substance. He invites many guests that I'd enjoy really listening to. But they're so busy going along with the O'Reilly routine that we never get a really good discussion going. I mean, isn't that one of the main problems with O'Reilly? That he never gives a guest with an opposing view a chance to really talk? I get enough of that on his show. I'd much rather hear what they have to say.

6. I don't know. I like the game. I love to see who has the stuff to

keep up with him. It is kind of surprising to see sometimes - who can and who can't. But I also agree with you - his guests, just like Stewart are great - would love to hear more. Maybe they should expand their shows to an hour.

7. I definitely agree with that.

5 or so minutes is just way too short for the interviews, especialy when you consider all of the intereting political guests they have on. Even if they set each show to an extra 15 minutes I think it would help greatly.

4. I am with you. Stephen Colbert is brilliantly witty. And he is

lightning fast with it. Franken couldn't keep up. Actually, I like his politics, but I don't think Franken is funny, naturally. I think he has an inflated ego too.

A bit awkward at first but when they both got into the groove it was hilarious!
