Will the latest slaughter of innocents help or hurt Chimp in the polls?
Traditionally, Americans and morans alike rally around their presidents when they commit mass murder. But in this case, I'm not so sure.

These animals (the Bushes) have spent almost every day of the last three years trying to convince Americans that things were getting better in Iraq, that the Iraqis were taking control of their own country, that freedom was "on the march."

But doesn't this, the "largest air assault since 2003," put the big lie to rest?

Assuming people are watching this latest slaughter, I don't see how the killing can help the Chimp (except for making more money for Halliburton, Bechtel, Carlyle, etc.).

1. It depends on whether or not they actually see the slaughter
Odds are they won't.

2. Help, no question. Anytime they can switch the talk to the fight
on terrorism, his polls go up. It's exactly how they planned this action. All the scandals are now on the back-burner.

3. Whether they want to admit it or not..
I think most Americans now see the light and that the Iraqi people posed no immediate threat to our security...I think it either doesn't help at all or hurts. I look for Chimpy to leave office, whenever that may be with a 22% approval rating.

4. Well people were interested in Tet but went nuts over Cambodia
I think people kept hoping it would end the whole thing.

10. By "nuts," do you mean ENOUGH IS ENOUGH?
This may be a very useful analogy.

23. Yar if I recall they were some mad about it.
It is so hard to recall back in those years yet I lived in the middle of navy bases etc. I recall people thought my husband and I were just awful as we let our teen-age daughter work at the navy hospital. We figured she should see men 2 years older than her self who were in the hospital because of war. My husband was a 20 year guy. I do not think as parents we were wrong.

25. I would like to see a set of parallel time lines.
It seems that we're living a cut-to-the-chase version of Vietnam. Perhaps the internets has something to do with the relatively quick process.

6. To me it doesn't help, but raises a lot of questions.
What exactly are they bombing? Are we blowing up the stuff we just spent billions to rebuild?

Hasn't anyone told this Admin yet that you CAN'T bomb people into loving Democracy?

Isn't this an admission that their strategy has been WRONG?

12. Yes, I was wondering the same thing. You can't bomb
people who are mixed in with the population. You can't bomb government installations if you're the government. You can't bomb the army if you're the army. What are they bombing? Are they just making for more no-bid contracts?

8. IT's always helped before
but maybe the tide has turned. If it doesn't work again they will know they are in big trouble. We can only hope that people start seeing that Bush is using this war to keep people on his side. They are manipulative bastards and it's time for everyone, not just us, to figure that out.

9. It will be like Vietnam
Everybody, regardless of age, killed by the airstrikes will be, by definition, an insurgent. Those who live are not. It's quite simple. The MSM has their script already.

24. 500 pound bombs are the ultimate jury.
Barge into a house, find no evidence of wrong doing, shoot a dozen people anyway, that is a massacre.

Drop a bomb on a random house and kill 12 people, they are all insurgents because their remains were found in a targeted structure.

16. Too little, too late.
Chimpy McPretzelchoker is pretty much toast and this latest offensive won't improve his ratings, which are sliding toward single digits. I've been lurking in some conservative blogs and even they are beginning to see the fraud involved here.

BTW, this is not a bombing campaign, it's a helicopter/ground assault (ala Viet Nam) and the worst thing, the unforgivable thing, is that innocent Americans and Iraqis will die.

18. Thank you. I'm starting to get the gist of an air assault versus
an air strike. Do they use missiles in air assaults?

This may be the first time I've seen "Chimpy McPretzelchoker." I'll add it to the list.

Not sure, depends on the type of air support. Happy to provide you with a new nic for your list, kinda like it myself.

I too have thought about putting it to paper.

You may want to start a thread and allow everybody to offer up their favorites.

Iraq war is very unpopular right now. More Iraq war isn't going to change that.

More war is only popular among his ever-crumbling political base (33% by the latest poll, I think).

22. This is part of the New Wag the Dog Offensive, one part
Another part is the alleged threat of terror surrounding March Madness, with accompanying story.

What? A dog alerted to something.

This whole series of events smells of orchestration.
