Senator Welcomes Debate On Domestic Wiretapping

UPDATED: 11:36 am EST March 16, 2006

WASHINGTON -- Republican U.S. Sen. Lincoln Chafee said he would not rule out eventually joining a vote to censure President Bush over domestic spying, though he said such a penalty would be "drastic."

Chafee said he did not currently support the proposal by Sen. Russell Feingold, D-Wis., to formally censure Bush for authorizing the wiretapping program.

1. I love Sen. Chafee

I may not always agree with his positions, but he does seem to be a thorn in the side of the republicans. They want to destroy him (I think more than they want to destroy the democrats), yet they need him. No other republican will win in RI except for him and they can't afford to lose the seat so they will support linc, but they don't like it.

2. Why not go to the supreme court?
Find whoever has status and run with it.

Find out if the statute is constitutional.

Ask for a quick decision and accept it as law of the land.

Then we could take the time to worry about Chimpy's "No
alien left behind initiative."
