Judy To Fight Libby Subpoena

So is this a ploy to delay the trial for her friend with appeals?

“The new subpoenas seek her notes and other materials, including any other documents concerning Ms. Wilson prepared by Ms. Miller and Nicholas D. Kristof, an Op-Ed columnist for The Times; drafts of a personal account by Ms. Miller published in The Times in October concerning her grand jury testimony; documents concerning her interactions with an editor of The Times; and documents concerning a recent Vanity Fair article on the investigation.

A lawyer for Mr. Libby, William H. Jeffress Jr., would not say whether other reporters and news organizations had been subpoenaed. Matthew Cooper of Time magazine and Tim Russert of NBC News have received subpoenas, their representatives said.

A spokeswoman for The Times said its lawyers were reviewing the subpoena served on it. A lawyer for Ms. Miller, Robert S. Bennett, said she would probably fight her subpoena.

"It's entirely too broad," Mr. Bennett said. "It's highly likely we'll be filing something with the court."

3. Wasn't the trial already postponed until Dec. or Jan?

There are so many people on trial, or going to trial related to this Admin, I am loosing track, but I though I remembered his trial has already been postponed until Dec. or Jan next year. Am I thinking of a different case?

Your right it is hard sometimes to keep track of what scandal = what indictment/trial.

I think it's a good thing that they're doing things that keep this mess in the media. If none of the atty's made any requests or mothions, it would fall into that big black hole of forgotten offenses.

Hotel ten days before the NIE was declassified. He's also fully aware of what he told her about Valerie Plame's identity as NOC CIA officer a few weeks earler.

This is just legal maneuvering. Plenty of time to resolve any and all issues before trial starts next year.

10. He has got to see the writing on the wall, what is he hoping to garner

by doing these moves? Is he just doing it for the sake of doing it or does he really think that Fitz and Walton are gonna let this stuff go down? Seems like if I were Fitz these types of moves would only make me more determined to nail Fibby to the wall.

Seems like to me the more Fibby picks at that scab(trial) the more bleeding that he ends un incurring on himself.

And by the time they get to the trial Libby won't have any specious arguments or appeals left.

Trying to determine what evidence the other side might have in its files, and an attempt to limit it. Believe me, the issue of Judy's notes ain't going back up the appellate ladder again.

12. The Problem For Libby

I believe, is that he has two sets of advisers, his lawyers and those connected to his defense fund as H., stated in one of his essays. And the moves suggested by one group may be contradictory to his best interests and he either can't see it or, can't afford to not take the advice. H. also said on several threads that there is a campaign of disinformation brewing that will occur over the next 2 months. All this wrangling is part and parcel of that and an effort to smudge the truth.
