So, is it really necessary to be defining & articulating a "plan" right now? The gop would love to take pokes at Democratic proposals as a distraction.
I say, don't give them any. Keep still until August. It's bound to get worse for them without spending a dime of campaign money or a minute time.

This strategy has already been successful in regard to Social Security "reform".

1. Let them finish looting the city and ravishing the women. They'll get
tired, lose interest, and eventually wander off.

Maybe Homer will write a ballad about such heroic stuff as these are made of.

2. Leaving a complete vacuum is not going to work
and voicing opposition to this stuff is essential.

DLC dopes need to stop cutting Conyers, Feingold, Kerry, Gore and Dean off at the knees when they tell the truth.

People aren't going to bother for an opposition party that isn't.

3. Sorry, but I have to agree with Posters 1 & 2 ...
For the Dems to keep quiet now and then speak up just before the election will be fertile ground for the obvious GOP response:

"Oh, sure, NOW they have a plan, NOW they know what they want to do. If their plans are so GOOD, how come we haven't heard about them before there was an election in play?"

Sorry.

4.  Fuck the gop.
Why give them anything but criticism and grief a-la Feingold before August?

5. I agree with giving them criticism ...
... I just don't agree with giving them ammunition.
