Amy Goodman vs Michael Gordon of the NYT

On Democracy Now! today, Amy and Juan had on Michael Gordon - co-author of the book COBRA II about the US war-plan in Iraq.

In the second segment, Amy gets into a debate with him over the NYT pre-invation coverage from 2002-2003. My jaw hit the floor when he said to her "Amy, if you know how journalism works..."

He goes on to tell her that she's "not well informed" on the issue of NYTimes reporting.

Amy Goodman's face as they closed the show? She looked righteously annoyed, and didn't even do the run-down of the producers of the show like she normally does.

7. Are you kidding? Every time I hear her she reminds me of what we have

lost in journalism. She exposes what everyone else ignores. She is very even handed, but it might not look like it because her area of investigation is targeted at 'the other side of things'. However, if you listen to her carefully, she is not a clown like they are on corporate propaganda networks. She pushes and pushes with focus and doesn't make faces, pontificate, or throw tamtrums. She brings out who ever she interviews without involving her ego. What more could we ask for?

In addition, she arranges to give the subjec the time it deserves. Sometimes, it's not enough, but it is far superior to the little sound bites on corporate propaganda tv and radio.

There are hundreds of tv and radio so-called journalists who should aspire to Goodman and Gonzalez.

Can you imagine paying for your child's degree in journalism and having them end up on a corporate propaganda network showing off like a clown and lying for a political party and their agenda and insulting people they didn't agree with?
