Secret Service says student’s rant was no threat to Bush
MARS HILL — A Mars Hill College student’s Internet post with song lyrics including “the president’s bullet-ridden body in the street” constitutes no threat to President Bush, U.S. Secret Service agents have determined.

But officials must examine Tim Willis’ seized computer for any other information before deciding whether they think he broke the law, said Russ Nelson, special agent in charge of the Secret Service in North Carolina.

If there is nothing there, then the computer will be returned,” he said.

An agent took Willis’ computer last week after someone tipped the federal agency’s Charlotte office about a posting on myspace.com, Nelson said.

4. Way back in the day
When Pappy Bush was president and I was coaching college debate, there was a debater from UMKC that had a rap song out about killing Bush Sr. The Secret Service came in and turned his life upside down. They found out it was satire, but did expose the fact that he really wasn't a student at UMKC but just told the debate staff he was. There was a huge fallout. He ended up committing suicide.

6. I'd like to blame it on bush
but I think he had a lot of problems. Though the SS investigation probably helped bring all those to the fore. I didn't know him all that well, but more than just casual aquaintances.
